Being a widow would be very hard for some people. They don’t know how to deal with themselves or how to hold in feelings or even how to act. The worst news someone could receive would be two men coming to the house where someone is and telling that someone that their husband passed. For Taryn Davis, she didn’t take the news well until she started her own program called “American Widow Project”. The AWP helps widows overcome their thoughts and feelings. A hero is someone who acknowledges courage, hope, and bravery. They can come from anywhere and can be anyone. Taryn Davis mirrors the characteristics of a hero because she overcame terrible grief, persevered to start her own program, and made a difference through donations and helping other woman. Taryn Davis overcame terrible grief and that’s why she is a hero. “Taryn had to overcome her thoughts and feelings of becoming a widow.” (“Taryn”). She started a program to help all of the military widows around the world. (“Founder”) She traveled to many other countries and states to encourage other widows to get involved in the program. Thus, persevering to start her own program. “The work the American Widow Project does recognizes their sacrifice, survival and perseverance and allows them to find healing in a title they never thought they'd hold” (Berger). The work she puts into the program has made a huge difference on her life and many others. To put it differently, Taryn is a strong and loyal woman and can persevere to start her own program. Taryn Davis has made a difference through donations and by helping other woman. She has made many donations to her foundation and has received many from everywhere around America.
