LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan Nowadays, the question that looms over every NBA fan and analyst’s head is, “Who is the greatest of all time? LeBron James or Michael Jordan.” No matter what, they were both incredible athletes who could lead their team. There are many factors that influence this decision whether it be their raw stats or their championship rings. There is also the fact that the NBA is different now compared to the NBA that Jordan played in. With these and plenty other factors taken into consideration, LeBron James is the better overall player. This is true because of his team-player mentality, his ability to carry a team, and his raw physical and athletic capabilities. LeBron James will always be looked at as one of the greatest team players in the history of the NBA. Jordan cannot be called the same. Watching LeBron play, you see his pass-first mentality at work. He is always working to get his team in a good rhythm working as a unit. Since Jordan was a guard, one would think that Jordan would have more assists, but that is not the case. Not only does he help the team with his scoring, but he seems to make everyone around him perform better with his playmaking ability. He can take seemingly lackluster players like Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith, who suffered on other teams, and make them play to their full capability and beyond. Michael Jordan on the other hand was always surrounded by an incredible arsenal of players such as Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Steve Kerr. Michael Jordan was not even able to get past the first round of the playoffs without Scottie Pippen, while LeBron took the Cavaliers to game six of the 2015 NBA Finals without the second and third highest scorers on the team because they were injured.
