Trying to compare something that has nothing in common, it is not easy. Surprisingly, the end product can show you unique similarities. For example, the classic book called “The Most Dangerous Game” is about a man who loves to hunt, meets a another man who shares the same interest. Later on, Sanger Rainsford finds out the other man known as, General Zaroff, loves to hunt humans as a game, and Rainsford realizes he is next to be hunted. Another classic movie called High Noon is a western film about a marshal named Will Kane who is trying to save his town from Frank Mitchell and his gang, who are after him. When comparing two completely different subjects, it can help find unique similarities. Also, comparing and contrasting can help understanding the book or movie better. In the one particular classic movie High Noon and the other classic book “The Most Dangerous Game” have many differences and similarities starting from the characters, antagonist, …show more content…
Characters in book and movie are expressed in a way where they are brave and confident for what they believe in, but Rainsford shows how he is against General Zaroff by addressing his game as murder, and Kane tells his bride he does not run away from his problems. Having an antagonist in each of the stories show how evil they both can be, but in “The Most Dangerous Game” General Zaroff is more discreet about his game, and in High Noon Frank Mitchell wants everyone to know he is coming to get his revenge on Kane. The setting has the same idea with Rainsford and Kane being deserted and left alone, but it is different because Rainsford is stranded on an island with few people, and Kane is in a town filled with townspeople. For the most part, “The Most Dangerous Game” and High Noon have just as much similarities as differences even if they have nothing in common when you first see or read
“The Most Dangerous Game” Contrast paper The most dangerous game by Richard Connell states that there was a guy named General Zaroff who believed in hunting humans. Also there was a man named richard who was a book writer and they both had different opinions. But what the General didn 't know was that rainsford was that was very very smart.and that the book and the movie had two different sides to the story. In the movie some people will say that rainsford was dumb founded because when general Zaroff was about to hunt them rainsford
He coiled his fingers around the trigger, sweating nervously. For the first time, as the desperate prey, he prayed for his enemy to fall into his traps. Clueless of what the next few seconds, perhaps the last few seconds of his life have in store for him, he felt as if his thumping heart was about to jump under his skin. Will this game of cat and mouse ever end for Will Kane and Sanger Rainsford?
In the story The Most Dangerous Game, written by Richard Connel, a hunter finds himself on an isolated island being hunted by a narcissistic and aristocratic Cossack. In the movie High Noon, by Carl Foreman, the newly wed marshal of a small western town has to face a convict charged with murder when he is released from prison. Throughout The Most Dangerous Game and High Noon, the theme and setting help convey the story in similar ways, but the differences of personality and opinion in Rainsford and Kane take them down separate paths. During High Noon, Will Kane has to decide whether or not he should kill Frank, just like Rainsford has to decide whether to leave the island or kill General Zaroff. "
Many things have the same things in common, but also things that are different about one another. For instance Will Kane in the movie "High Noon" is a man who is very brave, but scared at the same time because of something he has done. Also in the book "The Most Dangerous Game" Rainsford is brave, but scared because of something he had no part of. " High Noon" and "T.M.D.G." are both similar and different at the same time.
High Noon, which was written by Carl Foreman, is a film about a marshal who has to protect his town and himself from a man who is returning from prison on the noon train for revenge with the help of his gang. “The Most Dangerous Game,” which was written by Richard Connell, is a short story about a man who ends up on an island known as ‘Ship Trap Island’ and has to survive from an expert hunter for three days by hiding from the hunter, his dogs, and his accomplice. Even though High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are stories that have little in common, there are instances where we see similarities between the two settings; the protagonists and conflicts also have many differences. The film, High Noon, and the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game,” have two different conflicts that affect the story.
If both characters are being hunted what should they do? In the dramas that I read this year with my class, “The Most Dangerous Game”, and “High Noon”, they were very edgy and will keep you on the edge of your seat. In these stories the characters are trying to run away from their problems, until they realize that they can’t run anymore and they have to fight back. If you continue to read you will find out what the differences and similarities about my characters are. “It’s not even eleven a.m and the sun is high and hot in the clear sky” (High Noon pg 288).
I read the book, Friday Night Lights, which was published in 1990, and watched the movie, Friday Night Lights, which came out in 2004. The book was written by Buzz Bissinger. The character that I will be comparing and contrasting is Boobie Miles. The scene that I will be comparing and contrasting is the final game. The book and movie are similar in a few ways but are different in many ways.
Both of these excellent stories share similarities and differences between each other. The setting and conflicts are different however the main characters in the story are relatively similar. In the movie High Noon and the short story The Most Dangerous Game there are many similarities between the main character. Get ready for the high thrilling adventure of High Noon, starring Gary Cooper as Marshal William Kane, Grace Kelly as Amy Fowler Kane, and Ian MacDonald as Frank Miller. Other major stars include Katy Jurado and Lloyd Bridges. The movie is directed by Fred Zinnemann and produced by Stanley Kramer. I liked that the movie had a clear display of narrative that moved in a linear motion that was fairly easily to follow, the movie also revealed itself in real time which is a major benefit that allows an easy interpretation of the material. High noon is set in the town of Hadleyville, a typical western town with a salon, hotel and a train depot.
A movie could seem completely different on the surface, but share many similarities. Midnight Cowboys and Jaws are a great example of this. One movie is a horror movie that uses gore to create a shock value. The other is a drama that shows a man trying to make it after moving from a small town to Manhattan. The concepts of these movies seem as if they would have no similarities, yet they are a lot more alike than one would think.
I see a perspective of the quotation, "Character is what you are in the dark.", by Dwight Lyman Moody in the short story, "Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell. This quotation gives the meaning that you see the real characteristic of a character when they are alone, and no one else is around to see what they are doing or how they are acting. You can see some examples of this perspective in the short story with characters General Zaroff and Rainsford. For instance, when speaking with Rainsford about hunting The General states, "It must have courage, cunning, and, above all, it must be able to reason." (Connell P.12).
Today we are comparing the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams and the short story A Respectable Woman by Kate Chopin. Throughout history you can find similarities and differences in different pieces of literature. Two completely different storylines, one film and one short story, yet there’s so much in common about them both. The story “The Most Dangerous Game” stars a hunter who feels what it’s like to be hunted, and fears death in an isolated island. The film High Noon tells a story about a marshal who wants to protect his western town when a criminal is coming back for revenge. Both the short story and film are two completely different stories including their characters, yet they also have many similarities such as the conflict and theme that make up the plot.
Have you ever thought of how comparable two characters from two different books or Tv shows can be or how a character can save so many people 's lives and receive so much hate behind his back? Everything in life has similarities and differences as long as you're looking for them, but some have more than others. Comparing similarities and difference between two things in life is making a compare and contrast (book) . When comparing and contrasting two pieces of literature you have to observe not only the themes of them but also the plot.
