In the poem “Casey at Bat” and story “David and Goliath,” a comparison of David and Casey shows differences and similarities. I think there are some reasons why they are the same. In the beginning of the chapter, it said that david was just a boy, and Casey must be a boy because modern kids are into baseball, sports, and whatnot. The two stories show that they both have some sort of team. It says in the story of david and goliath that there was an army, and in Casey’s story it says that the had a baseball team so technically they both have teams. Finally there is one more similarity, the similarity is that they are both confident in something. It says in the bible that David was confident that god would save him from death, and Casey was confident
They were born advocates. Another thing that is similar between the two is their lifestyles.
Another similarity is both Columbus and Lindbergh had to make critical decisions. Columbus had to deal with the lack of food and the disease that was spreading throughout the three boats. Lindbergh had to worry about fuel, which if he ran out of would cost him his life. So Lindbergh had to know of where the land was. Finally, the last similarity between them is they both crossed the Atlantic Ocean while overcoming adversity such as the storms on the water, and the severe turbulence in the air.
One similarity that have in common that they were both slaves. I know this because in the first article "Wesley Harris: An Account of Escaping Slavery." and the second article "An Account from the Slave Trade: Love story of Jeffrey and Dorcas" states that they are slaves. The next thing they both have in common is that both men suffered consequences. Jeffrey suffered by standing up for his true love but she did not get sold with him because the owner only needed one and she had a family of 5.
Some similarities are that Christopher Columbus and Marie Curie both died from disease. They also were both very determined to accomplish what they wanted, and wanted to make a discovery,to drive the world of knowledge forward. Both of them also discovered something. Both of them sacrificed things in order to do what they wanted. Neither of them made it to their seventies.
There are similarities and differences to be found in the stories through God’s provisions, the father/son relationships, and their tones.
One major thing they had in common was their freedom and individual right. They both died as legends. Johnston2 Although they had many similarities they also had differences on how they did things.
One of the most important similarity is that both stories are well enjoyed over generations and teach great life lessons that serve the sole purpose of the
One way they’re similar is their influence on people. Finny could do anything and people would listen. One time he created a game, Blitzball (pg. 36), and everyone followed him and played it. He also created the Super Suicide Society, which connects him with Neil from the movie.
Some similarities one of them is that Krystina Chiger and Pavle Fredman are both Jewish. Another one is Krystina Chiger and Pavle Fredman were in the ghetto and Holocaust. I know Krystina Chiger and Pavle Fredman were in the Holocaust and ghetto because Krystina had to escape and Pavle was forced to live in the ghetto and he died. Next, they both wanted freedom from the
Such as how the main characters faced death countless times. When Louie was being surrounded by 3 enemy planes which filled his plane with 594 holes, and when Pi was dying of hunger. Instead of regretting and despairing, Pi and Louie both persevered to live on. However, there are more differences than similarities. Such as how Louie was in a plane, and Pi was in a lifeboat.
They both had primary people Adam and Eve and Sky women. In both stories they had sons in the Iroquois story Sky Woman has twins, one of them named Sapling who was kind and gentle similar to Jesus. Sky Women's sons began adding to the earth. Her other son was evil and destroyed all Saplings work and created everything bad.
The names of Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. are known worldwide. They have lead many fighting what they believe in. One man many people think of when being a leader to fight for his beliefs of the people is Jesus Christ. Jesus is loved by many and hated by the powerful, just like these three other men, but their is one comparison that has been made to a certain protagonist of ancient times. In the epic poem ,Beowulf, the protagonist, Beowulf, is a leader who fights for the betterment of society while being the one that many look up to.
One way that Holden and Jim are similar to each other relates to friendship. Holden and Jim are similar in friendship because they both have a hard time making friends. For example is when Jim made the “moo” sound no one laughed. Then for Holden is he is always criticizing
Hercules is very similar to Beowulf, an epic hero. They both share certain qualities, including some that make them desirable to each one's culture. Beowulf is valuable to the Anglo-Saxon people, and Hercules to the Greek people. Although Hercules was originally a foolish boy who made mistakes, he grew into a fabulous hero who is there to save the day. Hercules is a Beowulf-style hero because he has qualities of an epic hero, and is treasured by a group of people.
Children are often taught the story of David and Goliath at a young age. It is a story of a young shepherd boy who defeats a mighty warrior using only smooth stones and his sling shot. Through this story, children are taught that anything is possible if they trust in God. David is the clear underdog in this story because the Israelites did not have faith in him. No one believed in David when all odds were against him.
