The British came into Boston because his ship was taken over by the british. This also started the rioting. Him and Sam Adams were both great Boston leaders, but they were forced to leave from Philadelphia in April 1775. John Hancock was the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence.

So when Preston’s trial started in October of 1770, Adams argued that Preston had not given the order to fire and that his soldiers were provoked by the crowd. Eventually, the jury acquitted Preston on the basis of “reasonable doubt”- this was the first time a judge had ever used this term. John Adams played an important part in these trials and ultimately made the decisions that were the best for his people. It was important the Adams decided to send the British back to their country to help disconnect the two relationships. The Boston Massacre was significant on a few levels.

Samuel Adams was a founding father of America, a revolutionary leader and a political leader who played an important part in the American Revolution. He rose to prominence during the time of the Stamp Act as he played a significance role in the organization of the Sons of Liberty movement which eventually led to the repeal of the Act (Metraux, 2010). The society will also remember him for the numerous unmarked articles he wrote about the civil liberties. One of his most notable writings was his masters’ degree speech which discussed rebelling against the unjust government. Written before the revolutionary movement, this article was an important piece in the fight for the independence of America.

On December 16, 1773 the Sons of Liberty members dressed up as Native Americans, snuck out of their homes late at night and headed for the docks of Boston, Massachusetts and famously pulled off the Boston Tea Party led by Samuel Adams, the leader of the Sons of Liberty. With that, the Boston Tea Party begun the beginning of the revolution of the “shot heard around the world” which was April 19, 1775. Because of the American Revolution, the United States get a say in their own country, and run it the way America wants it to be run. The USA is free from the British rule.

The pamphlet “common sense “written by Thomas Paine denounced the British Monarchy and Parliament and gave reasons and examples as to why separation from Great Britain was necessary for the ultimate good of the colonies and those that lived in it. Paine thought that though government was necessary, it did not promote unity and happiness, but because of the way men lived the creation of a governing body protected freedom and security. Paine paints a picture of a small settlement where members of that settlement would choose one person to represent their interest. The number of representatives would grow as the settlement grew. According to Paine because these representatives would live and socialize with the members of the colony they would have a common interest and support each other.

On June 2nd, the resistance government of Massachusetts required the assistance of Congress and they pleaded Congress to take control of its militia. Within two weeks congress raised money to secure provisions for the Massachusetts militia and committed troops from outside New England. Adams nominated George Washington as General to command the newly formed Continental Army. John Adams wrote in his diary that the spirit of resistance and the sense of union on the onset of war strengthened the fragile union of the colonies. He soon emerged as the leader of the faction that demanded full independence.

Convinced that war was necessary, Patrick Henry knew that he had to motivate the colonies to become a unified America and not as distinct, sovereign colonies, to create militias that would fight for America’s independence. John Adams became known because of his opposition to the stamp act in 1765. His opinion stated "American colonists of the basic right to be taxed by consent and to be tried by jury of peers". Couple months later presented a public speech in Massachusetts stating the invalid act. In 1770, Adams agreed to represent the soldiers in Boston massacre. He believed that every person deserved defense.

In the meantime, I find the massacre turning point for the people in the colonies to raise their voices against the biased British government and the oration by Warren made sense to every people filled everyone’s heart with fire of patriotism.
