The Pigman, written by Paul Zindel, is the adventurous story of two teenagers who befriend a nice, lonely old man and their time together. Although there were many wonderful memories involving John, Lorraine, and Mr. Pignati (the Pigman), sad memories were also made. The Pigman dying was a difficult time for two of the main characters, John and Lorraine. The pigs from the Pigman’s special collection being broken; and the baboon, Bobo, dying were the largest contributions to Mr. Pignati’s death. There may have been other factors; however, these had the most impact towards his death. Mr. Pignati’s wife had passed away, but all of their memories had lived on with him, including the collection of knick-knack pigs. The Pigman’s most prized possessions were the pigs in his collection. When Norton showed up to the party that John and Lorraine hosted at the PIgman’s house while he was recovering in the hospital, they knew it wouldn’t end well. Norton eventually smashed the pigs. John had said, “Several other broken pigs were laying all over the floor, and the only thing I could think of at that moment was the proud and happy look on Mr. Pignati’s face when he had …show more content…
Pignati’s death was the death of Bobo. He was his best friend, and the reason for his frequent visits to the zoo. When the Pigman was released from the hospital following his heart attack, he went to the zoo shortly after to see Bobo. When the sad news that the baboon had passed away had reached the Pigman, he died right at the zoo while John and Lorraine were there. He had such a special bond with Bobo that it’s not difficult to understand why that affected him so much. His heart just couldn’t take anymore stress or sadness at that point, and his friend had just died. As Lorraine said in the book, “The Pigman smiled, and you could tell he was anxious to see his baboon” (Zindel 171), his first time back to the zoo since his heart attack was something he really looked forward
When he killed the pig, Pollan explained this problem, of comparing humans to the animal itself which scared him of how exactly he had managed to kill the living creature and feel pride about it and later the new emmotion emerging as he stood gutting the pig with Angelo. “However, I also knew wat made me feel bad about
John and Lorraine plead for forgiveness, but Mr. Pignati doesn’t reply. Eventually, Mr. Pignati agrees to go to the zoo with them. When the three of them get to the zoo, they find out from an employee, being an ingrate, that Bobo has died. The employee says many ignorant things about Bobo, such as he left putrid smells. Trembling, Mr. Pignati falls to the ground.
How do you think the pigman died? Was it from a heart attack, stroke, or a broken heart. But what had to cause this distress that snuffed the Pigman existence. It might of been his loved ones death for that could have caused this. For how long has she been away and he not admit it.
While all three are responsible for Mr. Pignati’s death, a majority of the blame falls on the Pigman because he is oblivious to the truth, acts immaturelyunderage, and he is lonely. One reason the Pigman is responsible for his own death is because he is oblivious. Although his wife is deceased, he still speaks of her as if she is alive. For example, Mr Pignati says, “‘My wife collects pigs’” (43). His oblivion also shows when he states, ‘“My wife is not home just now’”
The Pigman by Paul Zindel is about the lives of an old man, Mr.Pigman, and two teenagers, John and Lorraine. John and Lorraine were two “normal” children that went to school and had a rough time in their homes. The growing bond between John and Lorraine started when one day John and Lorraine met on the school bus one morning. Due to the fact that the first time they met was on a school bus, there was no room for mortification to occur. Soon after, John started getting himself into trouble at school.
In chapter 8 of The Pigman Lorraine Jensen, one of the main characters, portrays her thoughts and feelings about the Pigman’s wife Conchetta, along with being spoiled to the point where she doesn’t actually want anything anymore, due to the Pigman buying John and Lorraine almost everything they could wish for. When John had found a funeral bill for Conchetta, Lorraine had already been thinking or running thoughts across her mind that the Pigman’s wife had died. She had even thought about the possibility of Mr. Pignati killing her. The smile on Mr. Pignati’s face could not be returned by Lorraine, because she didn’t understand why he couldn’t come to terms with his wife dying . His smile also seemed to become quite forced.
The Pigman, a novel by Paul Zindel, is a story of two best friends, John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen, who narrate the life of Mr. Pignati. The Pigman takes place during the 1600s in Staten Island, New York. John and Lorraine both tell a story of how they met an old man, Mr. Pignati, through a prank call, who then became a close friend to them over the course of a few months. John, one of the protagonists of the story, along with Lorraine, his best friend, is a high school sophomore. Being six feet tall, he’s very handsome, and eye-catching, not to mention that he’s determined and adventurous.
In the vast town of Pelco, there were a community of animals who all lived in peace and harmony, all bartered kindly and joked meekly. It was a happy environment indeed. In Pelco, there were three much respected pigs, Paris, the youngest of them, Boston, the most naïve of them, and Foley, the eldest of them all. The three pigs all lived in houses of great beauty. Many citizens looked up to these iconic homes.
Have you ever heard of the book the pig man? Well there is a debate about whether the book should be taught in school. I think that it should not be taught in school because it talks about drugs, alcohol, and does not have very good life lessons. Those things should not be taught in school.

World War II and the Holocaust are an ideal parallel to The Lord of the Flies. Many of the book’s people and events correspond to World War II and the Holocaust. “The pigs were treated like the nazi’s were treated by Hitler,” Mel observed. The boys killed pigs in an astounding way. The boys are chanting,"Kill the pig!
At the heart of a seemingly simple, unassuming novella lie political issues that occurred in Russia during and after the Russian Revolution in 1917. George Orwell’s allegorical ‘masterpiece’ as some would say, stems from his own opinions and detestation of the class divide. He shows that an egalitarian society is unachievable, when some characters that exercise power within Animal Farm use forms of both psychological warfare and physical threats in order to keep the ‘lesser’ animals under their control in order to maintain their society which supposedly follows the principles of Animalism; that ‘all animals are equal’. The pigs employ various tactics and express ways of thinking that convince the animals that they are better off than they had
The Beasts Within A number of boys are stuck on an island with no means of communication or escaping. They band together in a big group to try to make a society and help each other survive. The younger kids of the group think that there is a beast on the island that emerges from the water, but all of the older kids reluctantly tell them there is no such thing. Later, about half of the boys split up to join Simon to create a better society, and when they catch a pig, the boys invite the other troop to have a feast with them, in an effort to get them to join their crowd. The head of the pig is then speared and placed in the glade for an offering to the illusive beast.
In The Pigman - Chapter 8 secrets are discovered and truths are uncovered. This is also when I feel the climax of the positive relationship between Pignati, Lorraine, and John really shows. The first thing that happens in this chapter is the secrets being revealed. We learn that Mr. Pignati's wife is not in California, but has in fact passed away. Which I think John and Lorraine had a subconscious understanding of anyway.
In the video “Green Jelly – Three Little Pigs” there are social commentaries made. The story relates America’s today’s days and the way that companies works in order to try to trick people. The wolf, in this case, represents the companies that suppress people from every part of the society. The first pig is a dreamer, and represents all those that lives far away from the city, but have a dream, being a famous guitarist, and decide to get out of their comfort zone and follow that dream even though they know it’s not going to be easy. When they get in the city, the dreamer feels lost, because the dream does not come with everything paid, and for making it harder, the wolf attend to destroy his hopes.
