Dental Hygienist Personal Statement

The career that fascinates me and what I plan to be when Im older, is a Dental Hygienist. A dental hygienist is a stressful job, but it helps a lot of people. You are helping people get better teeth and even look better, because when people have straight pretty teeth, they seem to have an upgrade in their looks. I haven’t always wanted to be a dental hygienist, I had many other career choices. But, something about making people smile when I’m the reason they look good doing it makes me happy.

Interview Summary The healthcare professional that I decided to interview is a Dental hygienist. The reason I decided to interview a hygienist is because dental hygiene is my major and the career path that I chose and I find the occupation interesting. A dental hygienist is a dental worker who specializes in cleaning teeth and giving advice on cleaning teeth. A dental hygienist plays a key role in a dental practice the hygienist is responsible for making sure the teeth are clean before you see the dentist.

Leslie has taken the children away from home without informing them or anyone else. Leslie suddenly relocated to Terry, MS in order to live in a trailer on her friend’s family land. Leslie states this is permanent. Leslie has a mental disorder (bipolar). Lauren, her daughter stated Leslie takes kolonopins, adderall and some other pill.

Who is your Realtor? She’s person that has displayed Stick-to-itiveness though her professional and personal life. Falon, started her professional career as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Florida. Over the course of her 8-year career she has always won her patience over with her willingness to stay on the job with a high level of care and concern, she has an innate ability to see the job ahead of her, and not quit until every detail; of every area has been addressed. She has lead the way as a professional and is a champion of high level client care.

Dentists will diagnose and treat problems that occur in the mouths, teeth, and gums of the patients they oversee. Some of these treatments include filling cavities, removing decay from teeth, straightening teeth, place sealants, give whitening treatments, write prescriptions, examine x-rays, and administer anesthetics during procedures. They also counsel each individual on how to maintain good oral hygiene and base their diet around their teeth. Some dentists may also make models and take measurements of oral appliances such as dentures and retainers. To become a dentist, you must obtain a Bachelor's degree and then enter a dental school.

Dental Hygienist You know that feeling you have after you get your teeth clean? You feel refreshed and clean. Well dental hygienist feel the same way after they have completed their work for a patient. Dental hygienist feel accomplished and relaxed.

Over the years, there are a lot of changes that has happened in this profession, where others may or may not find it beneficial. Ontario, being the first province that recognizes dental hygienists, has established their own college for the profession, which is called College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO). Before it has been established, dental hygienists are dependent to Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDHO), which by that time they can just work on a client when a dentist gave them an instruction. Before, the main focus of dental hygienists is to treat clients’ tooth decay and gum diseases. My motivation in life thrives when I face challenges. My biggest challenge was moving away from my family and developing my network on my own. Growing up as a member of a Korean family, our greatest values are gathering and having quality time. Thus, it was hard to accept that I am no longer involved in family times due to the long distance. However, as I had more time for myself, I could look back at myself and explore my interest.

Future Career As A Dental Hygienist For as long as I can remember becoming a dental hygienist has been my dream job. My best friend and I always said we would open our own dental hygienist office together. Although we were so young and most people's interests changed, mine did not. This career would offer me a challenge but also be able to manage the work with places to have personal growth.

This profession fits best with my lifestyle because I plan on having new friends, living around the Joplin area and I love helping people feel their best and boosting their confidence. Personality is a big thing with a career like dentistry you are always interacting, and meeting new people and you have to learn how to treat people and act in front of them. I could personally contribute kindness and facts that I have learned to make it a better occupation and make people want to come back. In conclusion, I want the occupation that I plan on going into to be dentristie and in this field I plan on becoming a dental hygienist.

My Education goals are why I chose APUS, When I graduated from high school in 2014 I started my ROP Dental Assisting program to become a Certified Dental assistant in the state of California so that I could get my foot in the door in Dentistry to one day become a Dental Hygienist. But now here I am two years later working as a full time dental assistant and I have no passion or desire in pursuing in becoming a Hygienist because its not something I feel I could really be happy with and do for the rest of my life. My real passion has always been with children I have always loved working with children weather it was when I was working at a daycare in high school or when I was a cheerleading coach for young girls between the ages of 4-9, I have

Yaneisy was born in Camaguey, Cuba and came in 2008 to United States with her family. In 2010, Yaneisy started her dental career attending Sanford Brown Institute, Tampa FL for Dental assisting. She obtained her Expanded Function Dental Assisting & Radiology Certification in 2011. Joining Dr. Powless’s Team in January 2012 she a highly skilled assistant, very caring and gentle. She treats our patients like family and is very proud to be a part of our Dental team.

My ambition to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy at University commenced in my teenage years, when I first came to London and visited the dentist. The professional approach coupled with a kind and compassionate nature and all of the different instruments and scientific technology the Dental Hygienist and Therapist used fascinated me. I am currently studying Dental Nursing at Teesside University. This course involves providing correct support to the dentist at the chair side, reassuring and supporting patients, maintaining a gold standard clinical environment, charting, dental anatomy and physiology. Studying this course has enhanced my knowledge of dental terminology and procedures as well as the anatomy of the oral cavity.

I chose questions that would be easy for her to answer and questions that could be incorporated into my essay. I also asked questions that would be fun for her to answer and that could help influence my decision on the career. I used the answers to the questions to introduce the career.

Being a Dental Assistant Dental Assistants can help change a person’s life in many ways. Dental assistants provide their patients a way to stay healthy within oral activities while also providing general happiness to a patient. Assistants work hand in hand with a dental hygienist observing, supporting, and caring for the patients need, whenever they need them. They work with tools, sit and stand long periods per day, and work in one of the dirtiest places on the human body, the mouth (Summary). Dental Assistants practice safety measures, just like any other doctor would, to assure the safety of themselves, along with the safety of their patients and organs that are being worked on from infectious diseases.
