Many people have been slaves and prisoners since they were young. Some of them born there and are slaves or prisoners for their whole entire lives. Most of the time their lives are stuck in the darkness and never know what is going to come or happen to them. Every day in their lives they feel worry, afraid, and frightened because they’re scared that they might do something wrong or unable to do what they have been told. In their lives, the only goal they have is to escape from slavery and imprisonment or be a good slaves and prisoners. There are many differences and similarities between Kindred and Camp 14 about what happen to them and what they have been through to have freedom and to survive. Education for the slaves in the antebellum South and the prisoners in Camp 14 have similarities and differences. One way they both have in common is that slaves and prisoners had an opportunity to have education. They both have to go through a lot of trials to gain this education in order to be educated and to free themselves. In both cases, they don’t have time to stay or live with their own family. In Kindred most of the families got sold because of not hard working but they know what love was but never felt it within a family. In Camp 14 many families got separated and only when they work hard they get reward as to see their family and never knew what love was.
