This helps to keep the amount of potassium and other nutrients in your blood at healthy levels.
If you are undergoing dialysis, it is important to pay careful attention to your diet. Between dialysis sessions, certain nutrients and wastes can build up in your blood and cause you to get sick. Vitamins and minerals are an important part of a healthy diet and should not be avoided entirely. However, it is commonly recommended that you limit your intake of potassium, phosphorus, and sodium.
