Imagine that you are a young teenage girl trapped in a small, tight, dark room. Nazi Germany has taken over your land, and now you have go into hiding. You and seven others live in this same room together for over two years until you all eventually get caught. Anne Frank was in this exact situation, but she still had lots of faith. Despite their hardships, Anne Frank and her family give many examples of the power of hope. To begin with, Peter and Anne's relationship show a great example of hope. At first, Anne doesn't like Peter when she first meets him. She says that she wishes Peter were a girl instead of a boy. She even argues with Peter often. However, in the second part of the play, Anne's feelings change, and she falls in love with Peter. This suggests that Anne is having more hope and trust in Peter. Anne talks to Peter in his room and …show more content…
At first, Mr. and Mrs. Frank were upset because they caught Mr. Van Daan stealing food. Mrs. Frank gets angry and threatens to kick out the Van Daans. Despite this drama, they recieve good news from Miep. They learn that the Allies have landed at the coast of Normandy. The Annex celebrates. This demonstrates that even when it feels like it, not all hope may be lost. Another way this scene shows hope is how Mrs. Frank and Mr. Van Daan feel about eachother when they celebrate. Mrs. Frank feels guilty about yelling at Mr. Van Daan, and Mr. Van Daan regrets stealing food. In the end, they forgive eachother. This shows that they are both more hopeful about their situation and in eachother. Lastly, another way this scene shows hope is through Anne's soliloquy. Anne starts off by talking about the positives in her life, such as the invasion, and then the negatives, such as the Gestapo finding the radio. Despite the things happening in her life, she keeps her spirits up and tries to look on the bright side of
Mr. Frank has provided him with shelter, food, and a place to sleep, but Mr. Van Daan won’t even go make sure he is safe. He’s acting like Mr. Frank has done nothing for him. Instead of rushing out to go make sure Mr. Frank was okay, he yelled at Anne to be quiet so she couldn’t remind him of how ungrateful he was being. Here is an example of when you really wonder if people are good deep down. If Mr.Van Dann is being so mean how can he be good at heart?
When he finally came back, she couldn’t help but dream about all the great moments of her family back together. She had too much hope for her life living in a happy family and when the only people that understood her and loved her died, it left her devasted. As well, in Anne Frank’s diary, Anne writes about her hope that the war will end soon and the possibility of survival and eventual liberation will arise. Since she and her family were living in a situation of extreme uncertainty in tough times, these hopes were shut down. When Anne heard the broadcast, she couldn’t help, but think, “Oh, Kitty, the best part of the invasion is that I have the feeling that friends are approaching.
When Peter and Anne first met, they didn’t get along with each other. Peter saw Anne as an annoying and immature child. However, as they spent more time together, Peter began to like Anne. They didn’t talk very often, but they tolerated each other. This tolerance became a beautiful friendship (maybe even more).
In the Diary of Anne Frank, hope was a major key in survival with Anne and the people
“Who would ever think that so much went on in the soul of a young girl?” Anne Marie Frank used hope to stay positive during the reign of Hitler. Throughout the whole book I read several examples of how Anne Frank was hopeful the war would end and that Jewish people would again be able to live freely. She frequently talked about how life was going to get better because the English were going to
Anne’s positive attitude and hope helped her overcome her distressing time in hiding during World War II. Other examples can also be found in the poem “Homesick”, and journal entries written by youngsters living during World War II. Having hope helps overcome obstacles that you may have thought was unfeasible to surpass. Hope can be found in everything. Fear can leave you petrified, but hope is the greatest strength that you can possess and hope will always overpower fear.
Anne was seeing the good in the really awful situation that she was in at the time. This explains how people are truly good at heart because she is trying to reassure herself and others that everything will work out and be ok in the end. Anne says “I think the world is going through a phase, the way I was with Mother. It’ll pass, maybe not for hundreds of years, but someday . . . “ Despite everything that is happening Anne still believes that it will be over soon and that everything will be ok.
Also Peter was shy and did not talk to Anne at all. Peter also did not like Anne and taunted her. Later on in the play Anne began to like Peter and talked to him. Also Peter was less shy and liked Anne. At the end of the play Peter and Anne liked each other.
This thought is conveyed in Anne's writing, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." This gave the Franks' and their companions new hope. At last, there was someone on the way to end the agony from being confined to the same isolated rooms for a long period of time. This outpouring of support from various countries throughout the world, proves Anne's belief that people are really good at heart.
In the Play based on the novel by Anne Frank a young girl who died during the evilness of the holocaust. When Mr. Frank finds Anne's book he reads a specific quote that has much meaning and truth of what happened to Anne in the holocaust. The quote by Anne Frank comes at the end of the play, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart. " This quote shows and means a lot in the story telling that even though through all of the evil and sadness Anne went through she still believed their is good in all people. This quote illustrates the importance of Anne's story.
Anne’s response to her challenge showed us that she is optimistic. Margot’s response to her challenge showed us that she is very insecure about herself. Anne Frank had a challenge in the story which was
(p.119). When Anne shows compassion and sorrow for Lies, she shows that despite everything, she cares for others and that she’s not selfish or
The Franks sacrificed their lives to help Mrs.Van Daan, Mr.Van Daan, Peter Van Daan, and Mr.Dussel. With the help of Miep Gies and Mr. Kraler giving them food and things to help them survive. Sacrifice means to give up something important or valued for the sake of other considerations. Mr.Frank showed sacrifice because he offered his annex to other people and sacrificed his family and his own life to save other people. He could have said no this is for my family only but he didn’t.
Somehow, even through the bad, Anne still managed to be happy. This is inspiring to me and makes me think that I should be more grateful for what I have and find more happiness in my
The most important thing that the Franks and Van Daans went through was a time of fear. No matter how much happiness came through in their lives they always had fear jumbled up inside their heads. As the Frank family and the Van Daans were cooped up in the annex- the place of hiding they were practiclly shocked and very fearful of the Nazi’s. Being fearful was something that came upon them and was totally normal for a person to have like the Franks and Van Daans, because everyone is fearful no matter what type of predicament their trapped in.
