George Stinney's Trial

The evening of May 4th 2001, Bonny Lee Bakley was sitting in her vehicle waiting for her husband when she was fatally shot. The primary suspect was her husband, Robert Blake. Robert Blake was well known in Hollywood for his acting career. Bonny Bakley had been married to Robert Blake for about 6 months. However, several sources discussed that their relationship seemed to be a rocky one, since Bonny was known to be a manipulative gold-digger and was suspected of trapping Blake into marrying her by having his child.

Roger Taney played a vital role with the tension between the north and the south based on the decision he made with the Dread Scott case. Because of Taney’s decision, he led many conflicts such as the free or slave black person, the Missouri Compromise, and lastly the conflict between the north and the south idea on slavery. Taney believed that blacks could not be considered Citizens in the United States because of their race. He states “there are two clauses in the constitution which point directly and specifically to the negro race as a separate class of persons, and show clearly that they were not regarded as a portion of the people or citizens of the government then formed”(Dread Scott v. This past week has been rough for the Robinson family. After a racist jury choose to make an innocent man guilty things went from bad to worse. Atticus Finch was chosen to defend Tom Robinson. This particular case was against Mayella Ewell, a white woman. As a black man Tom was already at a disadvantage.

THE INTRODUCTION Good day, my name is Benjamin Rudolph, and I am proud of representing the state of Maycomb and serving as a prosecutor on this case. On November 21, 1935, at the Ewell residence home, Bob Ewell lied to Heck Tate about seeing Tom Robinson raping his daughter Mayella Ewell. When in fact it was the other way around. And on August 26, 1936, Bob Ewell lied about being ambidextrous.

In the summer of 2002, Brian Banks, a 16-year-old outstanding high school football linebacker from Long Beach Polytechnic High in Southern California had a promising future ahead of him. He had a verbal agreement to play for USC once he finished high school, but he had a lot of recruitment letters coming to him. Unfortunately, his future was cut short. Wanetta Gibson, a 15-year-old who also attended Long Beach Polytechnic, had accused Brian Banks of rape. That summer morning, Wanette and Brian were making out in the stairwell of the school, that night, Brian was being arrested for rape.

End of The Witch Trials The witch trials and accusations started fast but ended rather quickly. During the trials, no execution caused more discomfort in Salem than that of the village 's minister, George Burroughs. George Burroughs was the only Puritan minister indicted and executed in Salem in 1692. He served as minister of Salem Village from 1680 until he left in 1683.

George is forceful and often shows abrasive tendencies when it came to keeping Lennie in line with what he wanted. On the day the main crime took place George already knew where to find Lennie because he had given Lennie instructions on where to go if he got into anymore trouble at their new job. Who is to say whether George knew that Lennie would mess up eventually and he would have his perfect opportunity to get rid of Lennie and live out his “lone wolf fantasy”. We know that when the other workers arrived in the brush Lennie Smalls was already murdered, killed by George Milton using a gun that belonged to one of his fellow workers, Carlson. He had lied and said that Lennie had stolen and armed himself with the gun when we know this not to be true.

Georgie Milton did something not many people have the guts to do, he took the life of his best friend to save him from the torture that awaited him, but, he took the life of another man and he took this life with the intention of murder. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, there is no difference between euthanasia and murder; and to this indictment, George Milton has pleaded not guilty. If I am to prove him otherwise, you must find him so. Lennie Small has been described to us as a caring giant. He had no bad intentions; and it is fair to say that our witnesses have provided us with sufficient evidence to support my argument.

Stroup wasn't the mastermind of this horrific murder. Stroup's partner, Stanley Dean Baker, claimed he wreaked all this disturbance by himself. In a American Revolutionary leader room in 1970, the jury did not swallow Baker's claim. They found Stroup guilty of homicide.

George Milton, as you all know, did not plan this killing beforehand. Lennie had killed Mrs. Georgia Haven unsuspectingly, which caused George to worry for Lennie. A few weeks ago, George revealed that they had a place where Lennie would go if he ever got into any trouble. It was a small area by a stream. Lennie, being so afraid not to be able to raise bunnies with George, kept on asking him if he hated him.

In conclusion, Mr. George Milton is clearly guilty of first degree murder of Mr. Lennie Small over killing him consciously, planning his death, and the method/timing of the execution. For example, he second guessed his action when he was at the brush. Had the chance to do right from wrong. Yet, he still carried out his plan. A little before the execution, he stole a ranch man’s gun and knew exactly where to shoot Lennie for not even a single cry of hell can burst out of him.

He had so much life to live until it was taken away from the cruel punishment of death penalty some people say he deserved it. That is an example of racial bias a 14 year old african american teen killed by death penalty due to a murder he committed of two young caucasianfemales but George was only 14. Supreme court says if your 15 and under you shouldn’t receive a death penalty because you are not seen as an adult unless your 18 or older 15 and under your still seen as a juvenile. Then why did George stinney get executed ? Is it far that kids have been getting killed by death penalty due to their actions.

The main reason George killed Lennie is because Lennie would have killed somebody again. And the evidence is clearly there, the pet mice that he killed, the poor puppy that he accidently hit to hard, and especially Curley’s wife. He almost killed the girl in weed if he had gone any further. The sad thing is is that he doesn't know how strong he really is, nor does he know what he’s done wrong in the first place.

George killing Lennie and if it was justified or condemned is a very controversial discussion and could go either way. So think about these factors and ask yourself the question if what George did was justified or
