George Washington, the first President of the United States, once said, “The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon.” Having said the following, Washington delivered a promise to the people of the United States that he would uphold the truths, rights, and laws stated within the Constitution and put forth the need of the entire country as a whole. George Washington has benefitted modern society by establishing the regulations of the U.S. presidency, leading soldiers in the Revolutionary War to gain freedom from Great Britain, and aiding the United States economy forward through his authority as President.

George Washington was commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, during the American Revolutionary War (History.com Staff). Washington left one of the most enduring legacies of any American in history as he is known as the” Father of His Country” (History.com Staff). All in all, Washington’s hard work, efforts, and accomplishments make him a well-known historical figure as he has impacted the nation with his intelligence, courage, and patriotism.
George Washington was the first president of the United States and in doing so; he established the primary regulations of the U.S presidency. Upon election, George Washington was perceptive about how vital a good example was; therefore, for every action and decision he made, it could be taken into account as a “precedent” for future Presidents (Wilson).

Nearing the conclusion of the Revolutionary War,”… the Continental forces were able to capture British troops under General Charles Cornwallis (1738-1805) in Yorktown, Virginia. According to the author, George Washington is an omnipresent figure as he was growing up, described as the man in the moon who was aloof and silent. This book focuses on Washington's wartime service which became some of his major contributions to the United States, rather than merely telling the true story of Washington, its main thesis is focusing on analyzing his contributions and how his governorship had affected the American history. Washington's life is divided into three areas in this book.
For two terms, George Washington was the president of America. As the first president, Washington had to set the standards for what future presidents should do. George Washington grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia where his first job was a land surveyor. As a young kid, Washington never thought of himself being the president one day. At the first presidential election in 1789, Washington ran against John adams.

George Washington was indispensable in launching the U.S government. Although many opposed his political views at the time, Washington's leadership capabilities were unquestionable after his victory in the American Revolution. Our victory over Great Britain would have been doubtful if not for Washington and his judgement. Before becoming president, Washington led in drafting the Constitution, which is the foundation of America. When he became president, Washington believed in unity and a strong central power.

George Washington is considered to be on the United States greatest presidents because he was a leader who demonstrated great bravery, compassion and leadership through good times and bad times, but still managed to keep the United States running on its feet.
He started out as a representative in Virginia’s House of Burgesses, and then progressing to be a delegate in the first and second Continental Congress. He led the United States to declare independence from England and continued to lead until the United States gained independence. Everybody respected him as a leader and followed his example, he motivated many troops and his military experience helped shape how successful the army was. George Washington did not just stand behind the lines and tell troops where to go. Washington would be at the front of his troops leading his men.

George Washington was seen as one of the greatest presidents and a hero. Washington even attended the inauguration of the new president, John Adams. This went to show how much of an honorable man he was. Before the presidential seat was created, he feared that the Articles of Confederation did not have enough power with the national government.
George Washington maintained his important image by serving in the Continental Army and gaining title as the first President of the United States. Washington served as a general in the army was able to gain aid from French allies during the war which allowed the Continental Army to get British troops to surrender at the Battle of Yorktown. Being a great leader is definitely an accomplishment that most people would like to obtain, but very few people reach that goal. Of the most well-known people in history, the most noted is that of our First President, George Washington. Washington’s leadership is best described as being composed of integrity, determination, resourcefulness, flexibility and creativity . His performance in three significant roles during the foundation of the United States that forms the basis of Washington’s greatness to this nation. First his position as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, second as President of the Continental Convention and lastly as President of the United States.
Out of the three that are listed here I think that his part in the American Revolution was the most important. Without him we wouldn’t have a leader, nor would we have continued to fight on. This was the first step to our new nation and without him we would have given up/still be under British rule. People like Washington have given people a voice and has motivated them throughout the years. He had kept our hopes up whenever we felt the need to give up and because of his role/actions we are our own
