In James C. Schaap’s “Pitcher's Hands” he talks about human nature from a Christian perspective. He takes a popular guy who everyone thinks has his life together and shows what is really going on in his life. Which I think is a good idea, because not everything is as it seems. I think this story is a good representation of today’s world. I think this because in the story the main character is the popular guy, the star of the baseball team, and “by all accounts- pastors’ recommendations, by every report given by teachers, by testimonials from her baseball coach, neighbors a local roofer from whom he worked fro every summer- Curt Feldman was a fine guy.” Everyone thinks he has his life together, when in reality he is having just as many problems as everyone else. This goes right along with today's world, and I think a good example of that is Johnny Manziel. In college he was the star of the football team, everyone liked him, he was a popular guy. Then when he decided to leave college early and go to the pros, he showed the world what he was really like and not that good guy that people thought he was in college. He played only a few games because he kept getting into trouble off the field, and now that he was in the starlight of the pros, he couldn’t hide what he was doing.
