Greed Depicted In Scrooge's In A Christmas Carol

Scrooge one said, “Merry Christmas! What right have you to be merry? What reason have you to be merry? You’re poor enough.” In a Christmas Carol, Scrooge demonstrates constantly that wealth is the only important possession he obtains. Caring for only himself and his wealth, Scrooge perceives Christmas as a waste of time and money. He believes for his own good and others, he would rather be left alone. Through this short novel, Scrooge is visited by three ghosts bringing out his regrets to show what Scrooge really cares about. Dickens illustrates the time with the ghosts to show the effects of greed and being discourteous.

Scrooge then is saddened that he didn’t help the family when they asked for help. Scrooge also regretted not donating money when he had plenty to give.
At the end of the journey, Scrooge sees his end and how the people around him react to his death. He then is filled with disappointment after analyzing his way of living and wishes to change it all, Scrooge regrets the greed that has driven his life and the choices he has made. Scrooge finds that everything has a consequence, but he is ready to remove all his greediness and replace it with giving to others.
Charles Dickens takes us through this novel to show Scrooge’s regrets because he was greedy. Scrooge replaced everything with money, that was his way of living. After analyzing his selfishness, Scrooge wakes up to be a new and hopeful man. Scrooge sees that the ghosts came to redeem him and save him from his choices. Dickens teaches us that time is not permeate, it is temporary and because of that, it is important to perform thankfulness and reach out to give to
