If you’re going to murder your ex-girlfriend you should probably find a better way of covering it up. Adnan is a senior in a high school in Baltimore, Maryland where his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee was reported lost on January 13th, 1999 and found in Leakin Park on February 9th. Adnan Syed was found guilty of first degree murder, the main witness in the case was his thought to be best friend Jay, who we later learned felt like Adnan wasn’t a close friend. The reasons that Adnan murdered Hae Min Lee all add up, Adnan has a motive having Hae being of different culture he put a lot on the line to date her, Jay claims to have seen Adnan with Hae in the trunk of a car that Adnan had and, Adnan also had no alibi to where he was at the time of Hae’s …show more content…
Burrowing Adnan’s car and then meeting up with Adnan after at Best Buy where Adnan showed him the lifeless body of Hae in the parking lot. After this he asked him to help bury the body. Jay decided to assist and bury the body claiming to have gone to Leakin Park with Adnan and digging a shallow 6 inch grave for Hae. This was the main evidence in the case that the state used to sentence Adnan to the murder of Hae. Jay was the main witness and placed Adnan with Hae before the murder and then with the dead body and getting rid of the …show more content…
Adnan said he didn’t know what he did that day and that it felt like a normal day it being six weeks who couldn’t blame him. Except for the part of how could this be an ordinary day, Adnan claimed to be very close with Hae how would you not remember the day of her disappearance. This day should be engraved in your brain for awhile at least six weeks I would say. Adnan’s only claims was to be with Asia, Jay’s girlfriend and Hae’s friend at the time and she was nowhere to be found during the court hearings and investigation. In the podcast Serial, Asia alibied that Adnan was in the library at the time of the murder and would of had to time to meet Jay at Best Buy but, why didn’t this come up in the court case. This doesn’t make sense if you saw the appointed murderer of a girl that you grew up around wouldn’t you remember seeing him on this day and go to the detective or a school official. This came up years later, when Asia was questioned by Sara in the podcast. Asia was able to remember this years later but, not bring it up months after it happened, being a young adult this would of come to voice very
On January 13, 1999, Hae Min Lee was reported missing and later found dead in Leakin park in Baltimore . Adnan Syed, Hae Min Lee’s ex boyfriend was convicted of the murder then sentenced to life on the charge of 1st degree murder. Jay Wilds was the witness for the trial that stated that Adnan had killed Hae, and both Adnan and himself had buried the body. Adnan’s lawyer for this trial was Christina Gutierrez who failed to use the only alibi for Adnan, Asia McClain, and go through DNA evidence on Hae. I believe Adnan Syed should be granted a second trial, because of the competence of his attorney.
Aurora Carnes Mr. Dais English 11 18 May 2017 The Mystery of Hae Min Lee’s Murder Hae Min Lee, a student at Woodlawn High School was found dead in Leakin Park in January of 1999. Adnan Syed was the main suspect due to the fact he is Hae’s ex-boyfriend, and Adnan's former friend Jay Wilds testified against him, securing Adnan's conviction. People who know Adnan describe him as a nice person, surely not capable of murder. Adnan should not have been convicted of this crime because his lawyer looked over key evidence, Hae’s diary says only positive things about Adnan, and there is no physical evidence linking him to the crime.
Adnan Syed was convicted of killing Hae min Lee in 1999 in Baltimore, Maryland. The call logs provide incriminating stats that prove Adnan killed Hae which shows motive behind Haes murder. Adnan Syed swears to have not remembered any events that went on the night before and the night of the slaughtering of Hae Min Lee; however, based on the call logs Adnan called Hae three times the night before she was kidnapped
Through the multiple times I listened to the Serial podcast, and vigorously wrote down notes during each episode, I have finally come up with a conclusion or conspiracy theory on who murdered Hae Min Lee. Serial follows the real life story of the murder of Hae Min Lee, a senior at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County, Maryland. Her body was discovered in nearby Leakin Park a month later. She had been strangled to death by someone’s bare hands. Soon after, her 17-year-old ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was arrested, tried, and convicted of the murder.
But here’s the catch. Authorities did not confront Adnan until six weeks after Hae was found. As you can imagine, the memory was hazy for Adnan from six weeks ago. This story was given to us through the podcast called Serial. The narrator in this podcast is Sarah Koenig; this series of podcasts drew attention to Adnan’s case.
There are many interview with Jay, Adnan, and other of his friends but who really is saying the truth to this case. The question everyone's asking is Jay saying the truth, he said everything he knew according to him, he didn’t stay quiet he went ahead and said it. Jay is blaming Adnan for Hae’s murder but in the other hand Adnan said the he didn’t do it. That he would never do a cruel thing such as that, he respects his family, his religious, and Hae. My confusion and my question is did Adnan really do it or not?
He was a classmate and sometimes they would smoke weed together. Jay even borrowed Adnan's car and cellphone on the day Hae Min Lee disappeared. According to Jay, Adnan was planning to kill Lee, and would need Jay to pick him up after the murder was done and then some how roped him into helping bury the body. There are many questions about what actually happened that day and Jay’s account has not been consistent. (McDonell-Parry)
In Baltimore 1999 on January 13, a girl named Hae Min Lee, a senior at Woodlawn High School, disappeared. Her body was found on February 9 near a park in Baltimore. Her ex- boyfriend Adnan Syed, a 17 year old senior was convicted of killing her and till this day he sits in a cell waiting for his innocence to be proven. Adnan’s star witness Jay, his former classmate who testified that he helped Adnan dispose of Hae’s body. The question everyone's asking is, is Adnan Syed really not guilty
This is when Hae Min Lee family knew something was wrong. One month later, her body was found hidden in Lincoln park. Police report shows that her death was caused by manual strangulation. A couple weeks later Hae 's ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed was accused of her murder. Adnan claims he had nothing to do with the crime one guy, Jay claims that he was with him since the
Hae Had a Secret Adnan Syed was convicted of strangling and killing his ex-girlfriend in 1999. There were not enough tests done on the site of burial to prove that Adnan did it. The only thing that convinced Adnan’s jury was Adnan’s friend Jay, who seemed to know everything. Jay was the proving factor of Adnan’s entire case although his story changed every time he was questioned. Adnan should not have been sentenced to life because of the lack of tests done and the fact that Jay and Jenn killed Hae and tried to frame Adnan for it.
This was quite the battle for Adnan Syed, a young oriental male who was accused of murdering his long-time girlfriend in January of 1999. Hae-Min Lee, Adnan’s girlfriend, went missing in January and her body was found buried in a local park 3 weeks later. Adnan Syed is innocent of killing Hae-Min Lee because of three reasons: Cristina Gutierrez, Adnan’s lawyer, failed to put him in a position to win the trial, Jay is not an effective witness, and the window of time does not match up. Adnan is not at fault
Soon after Adnan Syed, the ex- boyfriend, of Hae was arrested by the police and was sentenced life in prison. The case against Adnan was based on the testimony of Adnan’s friend, Jay. Jay testified that he helped Adnan bury Hae’s body, but Jay’s story does not match up with the cell phone records, and seems to change every time it is told. The prosecution argued that Adnan killed Hae Lee because he felt betrayed, and that he sacrificed his religion for her. Christina Gutierrez, Adnan’s lawyer, provided ineffective assistance to Adnan.
Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
This proves that Adnan was the one who killed her. Jay and Adnan both committed a serious crime. Adnan killed Hae with the help from
I believe that Jay Wilds is responsible for the death of Hae Min Lee. There is no way that Adnan could have committed this murder. Legally, Adnan has no alibi, but deep within Cristina Gutierrez’s (Adnan’s attorney) was a note that said, “Asia plus boyfriend saw him in library 2:15 to 3:15.” (Episode 1) One of her law clerks also wrote, “Asia McClain
