Serial essay The essential question is did Andon get a fair trial? Was their racism involved or has islamophobia.
Hae Min Lee body was found on January 13, 1999, also on January 13, 1999 Adnan was sentenced to life plus 30 years. Adnan, was a high school student he was a ladies man as most people said. He played football and track was a good student, he lead prayers at the mosque “he's all around a great guy” But this great guy had what some like to call a second life or to faced. Some bad things he did was he stole money from the mosque he smoked weed all the time, but the worst thing he could have ever done was loaned out his cell phone and car to jay. “he did things that the average American teenager did” as Sarah Koenig said.
Did Adnan receive a fair trial ? no he didn't, there is so much more evidence that Adnan did not receive a fair trial than that he did, he are some of the key ones. The jury really listens to jay's story and what if he was lying, he really didn't have that much proof that he was telling the truth. Also, ‘’On Jan. 13, 1999, according to Asia, she was in the Woodlawn Public Library while waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up. Shortly after 2:15 p.m., Syed walked in

Jay's story was did not really line up with all of the cell phone calls besides this one which is the biggest call of the case. And like one of the defence attorneys said you would have to have the worst luck in the world for all of this to happen in the span of a couple hours. It started with him lending jay his car and some people may not think this is that big but jays reasoning is saying that the reason jay had his car so adnan could get into haes car to murder
Even with Jay’s testimony, I don't believe that Adnan Syed should have been convicted of murder on such little evidence. The state’s motive for Adnan is based on Muslim stereotypes and no real evidence. They say that when Hae broke up with Adnan she besmirched his honor, forcing him to have to kill her to regain it. Adnan has shown many times that he doesn’t follow strict Muslim rules by dating multiple girls, partying, and even smoking marijuana.
On January 13, 1999, Hae Min Lee was reported missing and later found dead in Leakin park in Baltimore . Adnan Syed, Hae Min Lee’s ex boyfriend was convicted of the murder then sentenced to life on the charge of 1st degree murder. Jay Wilds was the witness for the trial that stated that Adnan had killed Hae, and both Adnan and himself had buried the body. Adnan’s lawyer for this trial was Christina Gutierrez who failed to use the only alibi for Adnan, Asia McClain, and go through DNA evidence on Hae. I believe Adnan Syed should be granted a second trial, because of the competence of his attorney.
I believe that the case should be reopened and there should be a retrial to prove Adnan’s innocence so that he gets the justice that he deserves. Adnan Masud Syed is American with Pakistani heritage.
I believe the bail conditions that Omar Khadr received were fair conditions, but the Canadian government should issue and apology to Omar Khadr for contributing to the violation of his rights. Although I believe that Omar Khadr was guilty of the 5 war crime charges against him because of his confession, he should have had a fair trial regarding his crimes. One of the charges was for the murder of Christopher Speer, a U.S. soldier, during the battle in Afghanistan. In an interview with the National Post, Khadr explained the situation and how he felt before throwing the grenade. “I was thinking, ‘What should I do…?’
Finally, Wayne Williams took the stand and testified, which resulted in very unfavorable attention from the jury (The Atlanta, n.d.). His angry and combative demeanor on the witness stand left jury members with little sympathy (The Atlanta, n.d.). It only took the jury approximately ten hours to deliberate and reach a guilty verdict, however, if the fiber evidence was not presented I do not believe the deliberation would have been so quick and most likely would have resulted in a not guilty
Case Gone Wrong: Anthony vs State of Florida Case No. 5D11-2357 If ever there was a botched case it was this one with inconsistencies on the part of the State being overwhelming. I watched this trial intently and read everything available.
I believe that Jay is guilty because he never gave a perfectly in detail response that would show otherwise. He changed his story multiple times. He added information sometimes and would took some away. He had a guilty look on his face in pictures and when he talked there was something about his tone of voice that made me think ‘guilty.’
Is the murderer truly guilty or was he at the wrong place at the wrong time? In the podcast Serial by Sarah Koenig has an impact on Adnan being guilty of murdering Hae Min Lee. The explanation of the lasting impact of guilt for murder underlines the difficult question that surrounds Adnan regarding whether he is guilty of murdering Hae min lee. There are many debates on how Adnan is guilty but there are two that stick out. Adnan Syed is guilty of killing Hae min lee because of the cell phone records pinpointed near the burial site where Hae’s body was discovered.
If our judicial system still believes that someone is innocent until proven guilty, then Adnan has to be innocent, because they did not prove him
However, the beginning ends with detectives interviewing Jay, an acquaintance of Adnan, who claims that Adnan repeatedly spoke about murdering Hae, and called him when he had supposedly
I believe the court system made a mistake and put the wrong guy in prison. There was never enough concrete evidence to place Adnan at the scene of the crime. However, Adnan's friend/weed dealer, Jay, claims that Adnan told him that he was going to kill Hae. Jay even goes as far to say that he helped Adnan bury Hae's body, says he just didn’t remember where they buried her. Yet Jay only got 2 years of probation.
I agree with the decision of him being sentenced for life. He killed two innocent people and was making an attempt on a third person. I think a rightful punishment is life in
Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
Pride and Jealousy are very powerful things! Some people will go to the farthest limits to preserve their own ego and selfish desires. The Serial Podcast by Sarah Koenig is about the very complex murder of Hae Min Lee on January 13th, 1999. Many different people are brought into the Hae Lee case but the one that sticks out the most is Adnan Syed. On the day of January 13th, 1999 Hae Min Lee was strangled to death by Adnan Syed with the assistance of Jay Wilds.
OJ Simpson was an idolized NFL player, actor, and broadcaster. He was loved by all and defied all racial barriers during the 1900s. People didn’t see him for the color of his skin, they saw him as an American hero. This was until June 12, 1994 when Nicole Simpson, OJ Simpson’s ex wife, as well as Ronald Goldman were found murdered. This was the beginning of the end of most Americans respect and adoration for OJ Simpson.
