He did a lot as president such as passing the Truman Doctrine, which he left a pretty good legacy from being in office like when he ended World War II. Harry had a very interesting and successful life. Harry’s early life was far from normal and it wasn't really as fair as the other children that were in his class. He was born in Missouri on May 4, 1884.

Dwight D. Eisenhower was one of the most extraordinary minds in the Allied Forces throughout World War II. He was the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in the events leading up to and during the D-Day invasion, and he designed Operation Overlord. Eisenhower’s strategies caused minimal casualties and got perfect results. He worked his way from the bottom all the way to the top of the ranks in the American Army, impressing everyone along the way. If Eisenhower’s plans and strategies weren’t followed, the Axis Powers would have had a much stronger chance of winning the war.

The sudden death of Franklin Roosevelt left Harry S. Truman in a tough situation with the war going on, Truman had to make decisions that would help end World War 2 as quickly as possible. Harry Truman became the president of the United States of America on April 12, 1945, after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt. He came into the presidency of a country that was in the middle of a world war against Germany, other European countries, and Japan. With no experience with foreign policy, he was in charge of ending the war as quickly as possible. The war with Germany was nearly over when he became president.

On August 6, 1945, the first of two atomic bombs was dropped on Japan, sparking the start of what is now known as the Cold War. Two large military powers, the Soviet communists and the United States of America, pitted their wits and defense against each other, using any means necessary to find cracks in the others’ defenses. Three days later, the second atom bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, which shook the world with its deafening death toll. The world immediately took up arms in the following years, sparking some of the most controversial years in history. Suspicion turned brothers against sisters, neighbors against neighbors, and caused many lives to be ruined.

These things that he accomplished benefited not only our nation, but other nations as well. During his presidency, Harry Truman proved he was a superb leader. Harry S truman was proven to be a good leader. He showed he was valiant, philanthropic, and sympathetic. By getting the U.S.A out of World War II, he showed he was a valiant president.

After Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in the Hawaiian Islands, President Truman dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. Since then, there has been arguments whether the bombs should have been dropped or not. President Truman’s choice to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was really the only option he had back then. Today, the bombs that President Truman dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is thought as a horrible event, but Truman dropped the bombs to save American and Japanese lives, and in the end, shortened the war. Before President Truman decidecd to drop the two atomic bombs, the war with the Japanese had no end insight.

The best presidents are ones with some style. All accomplishments and achievements to the side, a president should be memorable. Nobody does that better than Teddy Roosevelt. Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt is the best President to ever serve the United States of America because of his accomplishments in both his professional life and his personal life, along with his larger than life personality, and also because the American people loved him.

Thankfully in 1970, he ran again and was elected as governor. His choices and everything that he did as governor and senate made him so well liked that he was nominated in the presidential election and defeated President Ford in 1976. He has many achievements, but also many failures in his career. One of his disappointing decisions was boycotting the Olympics in 1980. One of his achievements was the Carter Center.

Prior to losing the election of 1912, he helped the U.S with by doing anything he could to uphold America and its citizens. He also aided in American access to the Panama Canal. On economical terms, Roosevelt was the trust-buster, breaking all of the bad trusts in big businesses. He also was the president who enforced the Sherman Antitrust Act. Socially, he preserved millions of acres of land, entitling citizens to interact and have leisure time, and wildlife to prosper.

Truman saw himself as FDR’s heir (Hamby 1992, 91). In fact, Hamby even characterizes, Truman as not only adopting FDR’s policies but also taking them more serious than FDR (Hamby 1992, 92). And, if Roosevelt’s attribute was style then Truman’s was effort. Truman lacked FDR’s charismatic appeal, but made it up with effort, intelligence and determination (Hamby 1992, 93). Which lead historian to consider Truman as one of the most effective American Presidents (Hamby 1992, 93).

President Truman was the first president to deal with the Cold War.

Roosevelt, at Yalta, asked Stalin for support in the war in the pacific, but Truman condemned this decision and decided to carry on his plan on bombing with this new weapons Hiroshima, so he could keep the entire price for his country. There were odds between the two presidents and the Prime Minister of the UK; they didn’t accept the ideas from the others, especially Truman and Stalin. They didn’t stand each other, and the debate held in Potsdam wasn’t heading anywhere, the Cold War was inevitable, but the real game changer was the nuclear weapon. Without these nuclear weapons, the Cold War wouldn’t have been as scary as it was. So I believe that Hiroshima caused the Cold War, but it was not the only issue that contributed to this worldwide
