During 1930, the Film Industry was seen as a tremendous source of communist activity. This was because of the Great Depression. The Great Depression had led many actors in the Film Industry to Communism. During this time, investigations were made into the film industry relating to communism. These did not fully erupt until the 1930s-1940s.

Film dates back all the way to the 1880’s where the first cameras were being produced. It was an exciting time for the whole world with this new technology. Over the years, while the cameras continued to improve, film did as well. The first film came out around 1905 and it turned out to be a huge hit. Through out many years, film improved rapidly and the problems of the world begin to appear in them.

People relied on movie theaters to help them through the rough time that they were in. Throughout the Great Depression Hollywood tried its best to make movies and continue to get customers. Hollywood made good business decisions during The Great Depression. People in Hollywood made money by making movies.

After World War I, people in the 1920s had money to spend, which helped the entertainment industry to rise. Radio introduced music to society as well as the famous singers became easily known with it. Plays and movies also became popular. Movies had no sound at first, until 1927 when the first film with sound came out. Newspapers mainly informed about celebrities and their works.

The Hollywood studio system changed dramatically during the 1950’s. Hollywood saw the emergence of a new platform of entertainment, which negatively affected sales, film production and society as a whole. Film studios no longer controlled which movies were seen or where people saw them due to the Superior Court ruling U.S. vs. Paramount Picture Inc. The invention of the television brought much change to the America and the American film experience.

The organization was called the Bureau of Motion Pictures (BMP) and sometimes they rewrote dialogue or requested script changes. Television and cinema clearly was impacted by World War II in the 1940’s. World War II is still considered the deadliest conflict to today. There is no doubt that Hollywood has many influences on society especially on young age. The term “Hollywood” refers to the film industry where located to the west and northwest of downtown Los Angeles, California (“Where is Hollywood,” n.d.). Not only in Los Angeles that television shows and movies of Hollywood are popular but also all around the country and worldwide. The audiences of Hollywood’s products are in various age starting from little kids to elders. Hollywood has incredible ability to spread believes, cultures, morals and even political influence on society.

Economic prosperity, new technological experiences, and cultural transformations in American society consumed the decade of the 1920s. The 1920s was an era of modern change for America politically, culturally, and socially. Buying items on credit was used for the first time, technology was improving, and American society was growing with a new self-confidence. The economy was booming with a new confidence it had never experienced before. As a matter of fact, the 1920s is known as "The Roaring Twenties" or "The Jazz Age" because it is was considered a decade long party filled with wealth, parties, and music.
