Pirates are known to be ruthless and expert criminals. Though, there are many pirates the most famous one of all time is Blackbeard, or Edward Tech. Like many privateers in the 1700s, Blackbeard quit his career in the navy and became a pirate. During this time Blackbeard used his knowledge as a privateer to become a professional at robbing ships as stealing valuable items. During his career he caused sailors to stop sailing and even took over entire cities which caused him to be famous 300 years later.
Edward Tech, or Blackbeard spent most of his life attacking ships along the Outer Banks. As a young adult, Blackbeard was a privateer in Queen Anne’s Naval system. In 1718 Blackbeard hosted a huge pirate party for multiple days. In 1718 people begun to not want to go to sea anymore because of Blackbeard and this agreed the governor of Virginia and told Lieutenant Robert Maynard hunt him down. When the news was told to Alexander Spots wood, the governor of Virginia, he thought this was the best time to plan an attack against Blackbeard. On November 22,1718 Maynard attacked Blackbeard but Black Beard Caused him to run into a sandbar. When this happened Blackbeard thought everyone on his ship was dead, but those who survived were at the bottom of the ship, and were waiting for the perfect time to have a surprise attack on black beard. When they finally defeated Blackbeard they killed or kept his crew as prisoners. And hung Blackbeard's head on their ship to threated other pirates. It is a myth that today you can see his ghost swimming in the ocean looking for his head. Edward Teach known as Blackbeard, was a notorious English pirate who operated around West Indies and Eastern Coast of the American Colonies. Although little is known about his early life, he was probably born in Bristol, England. Blackbeard had as many as fourteen wives and he had thirteen children. Blackbeard would plunder merchants ship,board them, and steal all of the gold, jewels, coins, food, liquor, and weapons. It was said that Blackbeared’s appearence alone was enough to cause the enemy to surrender.

Throught Bards life he was a quiet, timid bargeman who shipped barrels to laketown. This was untill the dragon smaug was awoken. The brarrel rider (Biblo) has unleashed a wrath on leaktown who rides barrels down and up the stream, Biblo did find a weakspot on smaugs left breast using a thrush Bard was told about this before the great dragon smaug burnt the entire city too ash. During the last stand of laketown bard and a small group of archers stood at their posts, Bard knew this was his only change at revenge so he drew his large yew bow and fires on arrow, the black arrow at smaug. The arrow his smaug in hte hollow of his leaf breast instantly throuwing him into the water.

Many of these pirates reached such a level of infamy that their names have evolved into legends. Among these names are pirates like Captain Kidd, Black Bart, and possibly the most infamous of all, Blackbeard. Blackbeard, also known as Edward Teach, was a character that would strike fear into the hearts of his victims.
Today, Christopher Columbus is primarily viewed as an important historic figure and a hero for his famous voyages in the 1400’s. However, many people to this day still debate whether he should be known as a hero or a villain. In my opinion, Christopher Columbus should not be considered a hero. A hero is somebody who performs good deeds for the sake of others, and not for their own benefit. Christopher Columbus just wanted to find gold and riches for himself and the country of Spain.
