Samuel Adams Samuel Adams was born September 27, 1722 in Boston, MA. His parents were Samuel Adams Sr. and Mary Adams (Samuel Adams- www.theamericanrevolution.org). His father was a very political man, and it was very evident that he is where Samuel Adams got his political tastes from. Adams first went to a Boston Latin school in his early years. He then went on to graduate from Harvard, where he was noted as a very diligent student. He lived in Boston, MA throughout the American Revolution (www.samueladams.net). In 1763, England announced that the act of taxing the colonists was at the discretion of the crown. The tax policy filled Samuel Adams with a lot of alarm. Samuel Adams was among those voted to represent the colonists’ anger toward England’s injustice in a committee started by the colonists. Samuel Adams was the one who wrote the instructions for this committee (Samuel Adams- www.theamericanrevolution.org). Samuel Adams was one of the first Americans to come to the conclusion that independence was the only way out of the hardships that were occurring. In 1768, he helped organize the “Boston Tea Party”, which was an act of protest toward the Townshend Acts (Samuel Adams- www.theamericanrevolution.org). The act of rebellion caused the king to enforce a harsher act called the Intolerable Acts. Originally called the Coercive Acts by England, the colonists renamed the law the Intolerable Acts because the law was intolerable (Ritchie Broussard- American History, 196). On the morning after the Boston Massacre, he represented the colonists, saying that the return of British troops would be a danger to the colonies. The passing of the Intolerable acts led Samuel Adams to urge the colonists to boycott at British trade. Samuel Adams’ urging eventually led to the forming of the Continental Congress. Samuel Adams and his cousin, John Adams, were both delegates for the Continental Congress. John Adams is famous for defending the British soldiers after the Boston Massacre, Both Samuel Adams and John Adams knew that the state of Massachusetts was both dreaded and distrusted by a lot of other colonies, especially New York and Pennsylvania. The Massachusetts legislature appointed Samuel Adams and four others to represent Massachusetts in the Second Continental Congress in 1775. At the Second Continental Congress, he pleaded for independence from Britain and a confederation of the colonies. Congress eventually approved and signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. John Hancock tried to declare the British to leave. In 1773 when the Tea Act came upon them Hancock helped organize a protest. In 1774 Hancock was elected the leader of the Massachusetts delegate to the second Continental Congress. When the British started marching Hancock and Adams went to Lexington and then to Philadelphia.
The British came into Boston because his ship was taken over by the british. This also started the rioting. Him and Sam Adams were both great Boston leaders, but they were forced to leave from Philadelphia in April 1775. John Hancock was the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence.

Many people know the name, “Sam Adams”, and associate it with a brewing company. However, this is not the same Sam Adams that was famous during the American Revolutionary War. This Sam Adams played a major role in gaining the Colonies independence, and some say that this Sam Adams was the father of the American Revolution. Sam Adams was the most important member of the Sons of Liberty because of his patriotism, passion, and perseverance. Sam Adams was the most important member of the Sons of Liberty since he showed a great amount of patriotism.
After the shots being fired at Lexington and Concord John Adams was very sad because a friend of his was killed during this time. George Washington agreed with honor, to be head commander of the patriots. George Washington lead them them through cold snow nights and to an amazing victory against the British. John Adams convinced many people to vote for the declaration of Independence. This included Pennsylvania which was very hard to convince because the believed that they should not have to change their beliefs.
The letter had stated about the issue with no taxation without representation to King George III. With the help of his studies in liberal arts, he was able to be elected to be the president of the Second Continental Congress for about two and a half years, May 24,1775 to October 19, 1777 (www.ushistory.org and www.johnhancock.org). John Hancock was also in the Sons of Liberty protest group, and he and Samuel Adams were the leaders of this group. His staunch opposition of British oppression of the colonies was well documented during his life in many of his essays. He had many supporters during this controversial time and served as a well revered and respected politician. I am Samuel Adams, cousin of John Adams. I am a patriot, and am also a part of the sons of liberty. I was the fifth to sign the Declaration of Independents happily representing the state of Massachusetts. I was a political leader in the Revolutionary war and was John Hancock’s lieutenant. I was very committed to being a patriot and fought for my and others freedom.
Samuel Adams’ interpersonal skills of leadership, organization, and coordination boosted him to the forefront of the revolution. As people grew more and more tired of the laws England had placed upon them, Samuel Adams rose up voicing his opinions of the independence they desired. The principle that it was “lawful to resist the Supreme Magistrate, if the Commonwealth cannot be otherwise preserved,” (Samuel Adams, 1740) which was his Harvard college thesis, followed him throughout his entire career. John Adams became known because of his opposition to the stamp act in 1765. His opinion stated "American colonists of the basic right to be taxed by consent and to be tried by jury of peers". Couple months later presented a public speech in Massachusetts stating the invalid act. In 1770, Adams agreed to represent the soldiers in Boston massacre. He believed that every person deserved defense.
John Adams John Adams is the one of the most interesting person in the Revolutionary War. He had a huge impact on the Revolutionary War. He helped make the Declaration of Independence. In 1774 he served in the first continental congress. He was the first vice president of the United States and the second president.
Abigail Adams played a very important role in the American Revolution; even if she didn’t fight in the war. Abigail fought for women’s rights and slavery instead. Her perseverance pulled her through rough times, as well as her stubbornness. Abigail Adams was an independent woman and a fantastic role model. Abigail Adams was born on November 11th, 1744, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and grew up with no formal education.
John Quincy Adams was born in Braintree, Massachusetts on July 11, 1767 to John Adams, the 2nd president, and his wife, Abigail Adams. He was one of four children in his family. His early years were spent living back and forth between Braintree and Boston. His father and mother taught him mathematics, languages, and the classics. John Adams was politically active and the calling of the first Continental Congress in 1774 marked a new stage.
He signed the Declaration of Independence and he was a governor of Massachusetts. He worked with with the Continental Congress and he represented the colonies. He was one of the first in the Congress to declare separation from Britain. Adams was as verbal in the Congress because the other people who surrounded him. Adams was still known for what he did in the congress.
The French-Indian War of 1754-1763 resulted in political, ideological, and economic alterations within Britain and its American colonies. The French and Indian War, also referred to as The Seven Years War, began with British and French conflicts across the Ohio River Valley, as both nations wanted to claim the land for themselves. The first blood of the French-Indian War began with multiple British failures, including Washington’s dreadful defeat at Fort Necessity and General Braddock’s failed attempt at conquering Fort Duquesne, in which he died along with two-thirds of his army (Document C). The British would, however, gain momentum in 1759 with multiple victories, including their most significant triumph, Quebec.
