Jackie used bravery and his determination to accomplish his goals. He played his hardest on the field through tough times, and off the field, he would stand up for blacks.

The document written by Martin Luther King is important in that it brings to light the shameful acts of the police by brutally abusing Negros . It also brings to light the ignorance of politicians in addressing the most significant matters.

All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.” In the 40’s, an African American playing in the MLB seemed ridiculous to many baseball fans, including the players. Jackie Robinson lived through the hatred and discrimination throughout his time in the MLB, but demanded you respect him not for the color of his skin but as a human, and for being for being just as good as any of the other players. Jackie Robinson was an important and influential figure in history that had a positive impact on the world because he showed that it didn’t matter the color of your skin, or where you came from.

Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years for being apart of the African National Congress and speaking out against the government. After he was released, he was elected the first Black President of South Africa. He negotiated with the white government, saying "the ANC will not suspend, to say nothing of abandoning, the armed struggle until the government shows its willingness to surrender the monopoly of political power" (Document E). Mandela spoke for the black population of South Africa, asking the government to share political power with acknowledged black leaders in the nation. He was an admirable figure in the movement to end the apartheid, and the cry "Free Mandela" was heard throughout South Africa.

Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most influential leaders of his time and played a crucial role in the African-American Civil Rights movement. Luther was a charismatic leader who took a firm stand against the oppressive and racist regime of the United States (US), devoting much of his life towards uniting the segregated African-American community of the US. His efforts to consolidate and harmonise the US into one country for all is reflected in many of his writings and speeches spanning his career. As a leader of his people, King took the stand to take radical measures to overcome the false promises of the sovereign government that had been addressing the issues of racial segregation through unimplemented transparent laws that did nothing to change the grim realities of the society. Hence, King’s works always had the recurring theme of the unity and strength of combined willpower.

All the great leaders of the movement have gone down in history for their courageous work and outstanding commitment to the civil rights movement. One of the most famous of the activists was Martin Luther King Junior (1929-1968) . King is still remembered today for his legendary speech entitled “I had a dream”.

The African Nelson Mandela and the American Martin Luther King are important and influential heroes who made the world better somehow, in terms to fight for black people rights in their country. According to (www.dictionary.com), a hero is defined as “ the man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities”. Certainly, both heroes had the courage to sacrifice for black people with extreme power to resist the racism in the past using various ways. It is clear that the two heroes met their ambitions, but Mandela made bigger change worldwide and he was inspirational leader with severe willingness to fight for justice. Nelson Mandela and Martin King lived many similar situations which led to their great effort.

His task was not easy, but he did all his best to stop the racism in the American society. So who Martin Luther King was, and what he did to serve on issue of racial discrimination between black and white Americans? To answer these two general questions shortly, Martin Luther King was a black American, he was one of the most significant honest voices of civil needs movement, and hero of equal rights. Because he chose to end the racialism with principle of nonviolence or peaceful resistance, according to his said "We must learn to live together as brothers or we will perish together as fools". My research will answer these two questions: a) How he impacted the American society?

NELSON MANDELA Nelson Mandela is one of the influence people in the 20th century politics. He was the first black president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999 and elected by fully representative democratic election. He was also a politician, an activist, fighting against HIV/AIDS in Africa, promoting global peace and South African anti apartheid revolutionary. One thing that he did for the Africans and affects the world was about to end the apartheid, a system that try to separated the races of black skin over white skin people in South Africa. Because of him right now there is no differentiate between those people again.

In his lifetime, he directed a campaign of peacefulness to overthrow Africa’s apartheid government system. He also served as the first black South African president. Nelson Mandela’s achievements came through personal hard work and a firm belief and vision of what Africa could become. Early years were not easy for Nelson Mandela. He was born into a very small village and was later moved into an even smaller village due to familial disputes.

Nelson Mandela is important to us because he was the first democratically elected president of South Africa, after being imprisoned for 27 years, and overcoming the obstacles that inspired the world. Nelson Mandela was born Rolihlahla Mandela on July 18, 1918, in Mvezo, on the banks of the Mbashe River in Transkei, South Africa. He was later named Nelson when he entered school. Nelson was supposed to be raised and trained to be an advisor and chief one day. As chief, Gadla, Mandela’s father, had four wives, which was okay for their culture.

He helped to rebuild the countries society and make it a better place. Throughout his life he was leading the anti-apartheid movement which was fighting racism in their country. This has had a major effect on today’s society as we are no longer separated because of our skin colour. Even after being imprisoned Nelson Mandela still fought for his rights and because of that, he achieved his goal.

In my opinion Nelson Mandela is one of the best role models to look up to, cause Mandela showed the world a whole new way of thinking and acting, with getting rid of apartheid and starting equality for every human being. Nelson was the first symbol of strength for the black people, he showed hope for every South African person. Nelson would die for the people to get where the world is today. Nelson Mandela was the leader of ANC (African National Congress) where he fought for every South African person, I believe the world would have been different if Nelson wouldn’t have fought for freedom for every individual. What I adore about Nelson Mandela is clearly he’s tolerance, and what he managed to do to society.
