“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter” this quote has a meaning in standing up for yourself as in for freedom , equal rights and justice. Martin Luther King Jr took one of the main roles in the Civil Rights Movement as in saying in the quote he used for Americans but different races all around the world. Martin Luther King inspired people to do things back then and now modern day just like he inspired the bus boycott in the Civil Rights Movement standing up for equal rights. Dr King had a vision of a society in which race was not an issue in how people were treated or in how they were allowed to to live their lives. It is impossible to combat injustice by appeasing those who are injust. Martin Luther King is a famous civil right activist who put his life on the line to stop the unjust treatment of African-Americans in the United States. King’s efforts combined with other civil rights activist’s allowed African Americans to gain many rights that they previously did not have. As a peacemaker and an outspoken leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has done a lot to end segregation in the United States of America. His own imagination filled with millions of hopes that one day everyone can learn to accept one another put him in very difficult situations in which he was not afraid. In 1963, Dr. King wrote a letter from the Birmingham Jail to a clergymen that freedom has to be given to everyone no matter what race they were. Dr Martin Luther King Jr was responsible for the success of the Civil Rights Movement which occurred during the 1960’s to a small extent. One of the first accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was his founding and presidency of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The SCLC is a civil rights group that focused on desegregating the south. The group's first focus was on desegregating the bus system, but they eventually moved on to greater things such as registering blacks to vote and organizing peaceful protests. Firstly, through his life, King started his revolution when he moved to Montgomery. He made a bus boycott when a black woman was arrested, because she refused to give her seat to a white passenger.
Today, leadership is considered to be more art than science. Equally observable is that those who engage in leadership invoke a variety of leadership styles and traits that can vary greatly, and yet can be equally successful in a variety of situations. No one could deny the tremendous leadership skills of Martin Luther King, but at the same time, for example, do not highlight the skills and success of General Schwarzkopf in crushing the army of enemies. As is generally known, the personal motives affect the leadership preferences. For example, some people choose adventurous and strict leadership style, while the others prefer peaceful and continuous.
