Statistics show that roughly ⅓ of americans vote which is roughly 100 million citizens. Approximately ¼ of those voters are voting blindly, meaning that they are uneducated. These ignorant voters can easily swing an election and counter other votes. This problem leads to corruption and danger in america because they are giving a lot of power to a single man or woman away without knowing the consequences of their actions. Ignorance is the primary dilemma throughout the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, and creates an illusion of safety for the citizens. The book is about a brave man, Guy Montag, trying to fix a corrupt society manipulated by the government, but has a hard time because of beatty and the fire department that tries to keep society the way it is. In Fahrenheit 451 and in modern day society being ignorant is extremely dangerous. On January 31, 2014 ABC News Gave multiple misleading and opaque reports on owning a gun that scared many ignorant americans. There were three segments broadcasted on live television and radio that explained how owning a gun causes all children to be in danger and how no american should own them. On “World News”, Diane Sawyer and David Muir talk about how guns put kids in harm's way instead of protecting them. Diane even mentions “Every hour a child is rushed to the emergency room because of gunshots.” The program then further discusses the dangers of them, and explains that “...7,391 children rushed to the hospital every year...” Because of this information given ignorant parents and families with guns panic and discard or sell the firearm without further
