A fitness component that is immensely important in weightlifting is the strength of an individual. It can be measured by looking at how heavy one individual can carry which then will help the committee to eliminate and decide which athletes are applicable for this specific sport. We are helping the committee decide who has the ability to use their muscles to carry heavy amounts of weight because strength is an important factor in weightlifting.
