Amelia Earhart Feminism is a huge problem in the world that still is existent to this day. Whether it’s from insulting someone and calling them a girl or comparing one’s skills at something to a girl’s skill at that thing. Many people have taken a stand against this problem. Because of those people it isn’t as bad as it was back in the 18 – 1900s. Amelia Earhart is a perfect example of someone who has taken a stand against feminism.

Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. Throughout history, many very influential women have contributed to the rise of the feminist movement and distinguished what it meant to be a feminist. It is very important to recognize that the goals of feminism have changed vastly over time. We see this in the documents written by Olympe de Gouges in France, 1791, who some recognize as the world’s first feminist, and bell hooks in the United States in 2000, who is known for her feminist theory focused on intersectionality. The goals of feminism have changed over time, which can be seen in Olympe de Gouges's Declaration of the Rights of Woman, and bell hook’s Sisterhood is Still Powerful.

Being a feminist by any means is not an easy task. The old feminism is crumbling because it simply does not answer the needs and questions of the 21st-century women. “Women are the equals of men. Anyone who shares the desire to reduce inequality and promote opportunity must embrace feminism. “If the future is men and women dwelling as images of each other in a world unchanged, it is a nightmare” (Greer, 2).

Sexism is still a struggle in our society that has to be tackled as it makes us as women feel unworthy and not capable of things that we can actually do. Thank you, Millicent Fawcett, for giving me the opportunity to speak on behalf of the National Union of Women 's Suffrage Societies which Millicent leads with grace and dignity. Some of you may know me and some of you may not, but I am Clementine Forest one of 3000 women suffragists who has marched here today, the largest march ever occurred, for the cause of women 's suffrage. I am here to represent and express the importance of women receiving the right to vote. Unfortunately, the London weather wasn 't on our side with the presence of heavy rain throughout our march from Hyde Park to Exter Hall, but this reinforces that nothing will stop women from protesting their right to vote. As you know we have been gathered together as one, today on February 9th, 1907, the day in which Parliament is open once again for the coming year.

First, we should define feminism. Basically, feminism is a philosophy that advocates equal rights for women and men. The more feminists seek to overthrow any sign of male dominance in our society, to the point where they disapprove the biblical roles of husbands and wives, defending abortion, and so on. Modern feminism is a forged solution to the real issue of the inequality of women. Feminism assumes to itself the right to demand respect and equality in every aspect of life.

Feminism is a movement with dating back all the way to 1837. It’s been shaped by many great thinkers and their works. Perhaps no lady has posed more of an influence on the movement then Bell Hooks, who changed much of the world’s views on feminism, in her book Feminism: A Movement to End Sexist Oppression. Harriet Taylor Mill also would have a large impact in what would later become Liberal Feminism. The ideology has developed thoroughly through the years with the help of more contemporary feminist philosophers such as, Gloria Feldt who wrote the influential feminist novel, No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think about Power, and many other influential feminist text.

In today society Feminists ought to disagree about what sexism consists in, and what exactly to be done about it. In addition, Feminism is the belief that women should be treated as potential equals and as social equals to men. A woman should have the right to vote, when an election is approaching, a women will declare that one thing is certain, they will vote. And not only this, the selected political woman must represent the real female values such as more women in senior positions, support of the poor and marginalized in society and openness and tolerance towards other races and religions.
