The concept of time has always been known to assist people in healing. After all, “Time heals all wounds”. That is not the case in the sci-fi film “Interstellar” by Christopher Nolan. Time dilation is used as a negative element throughout the film which essentially puts the audience on edge. The film shows us a future where there is scares food supply, a collapsed economy and dust storms are the new norm. Earth is slowly going extinct and it’s up to Joseph Cooper (Mathew McConaughey) and the rest of the Endurance crew to save mankind by travelling through a wormhole to a completely different galaxy to find habitable planets so the human race may continue. Cooper is faced with the choice of staying with his kids, Murphy and Tom which will eventually …show more content…
The concept of time plays a major role because time is slowed down in space. There is a scene in the film that shows Cooper and the rest of the crew land on the first potential "habitable" planet. They are faced with the reality that the planet is only water and Uninhabitable. When Dr. Brand and Doyle are trying to collect the data to see if the planet is habitable, two enormous waves appear. While one wave is going away from them, the other is coming full force towards them. When trying to return to the ship Dr. Brand gets stuck under debris. Doyle sends CASE, to retrieve her and bring her back to the ship. CASE and Dr. Brand return and enter the ship but Doyle is swept away by the wave right before he’s about to enter. Moments after the wave hits you can see Doyle’s body floating on the water. While Cooper and the crew where on the planet for about an hour, it was twenty-three years back on earth. The characters in the movie get very emotional about how much time they spent away from their families and the film shows how Cooper 's family lost faith in the possibility of his return. The concept of time is what makes this movie very appealing. It makes the audience feel in touch with the characters and feel bad for them. It makes us feel engaged in the movie and that is an enjoyable

Much like money, time is a human construct. Human beings created the concept of time to organize the events of their lives in a continuous, chronological order. Kurt Vonnegut’s novel, Slaughterhouse Five, depicts a different interpretation of time and the organization of events in Billy Pilgrim’s life. Billy Pilgrim’s life is broken up into brief events, and Vonnegut writes the events out of chronological sequence, which adds a unique flair to an already distinctive work of literature. In addition, Vonnegut includes the Trafalmadore alien’s perception of time to further solidify the theme in his work.

Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey is a film largely defined by a split between human visceral drives, and mechanical narrative detachment. The film appears to privilege visceral images (including the psychedelic Stargate scene in the film’s concluding segment, “Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite”) as a means of creating an enigmatic affective experience which prompts immersion in the film. Instead, Kubrick is more concerned with providing a strong visceral experience over narrative meaning, as evidenced in his assertion that the Stargate sequence’s “meaning has to be found on a sort of visceral, psychological level rather than in a specific literal interpretation When considering Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, pensive spectatorship is particularly

One of the factors that define Inception are the conflicts that appear in the film. A major conflict is the battle between Cobb and society. In Inception, faceless corporations are trying to kill Cobb, while the U.S. government is trying to imprison him because of a crime that he didn’t commit. These are examples of the “person against society” conflict, which can be considered as a characteristic of science-fiction. On the other hand, there is another significant conflict; the struggle between Cobb and himself, because of the belief that Mal’s suicide was his fault.
Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel team super hero film. Nonetheless, it is controversial to the audience whether it fits the sub-genre of a team-up film such as The Avengers. Due to the characters, none of them have their individual movie like Iron Man. However, James Gunn uses points of view and actor’s acting to enhance the intimacy among the characters that makes this movie fits into the team super hero film genre. In addition, Gunn uses makeups to not make any of the roles too standout because they all have unique appearances that balance out on screen.
As one wise time traveller once said “People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually ... it 's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff” (Doctor Who S3E10). While this isn’t the most eloquent or scientific quote, it makes the audience think about how they view time and their life. While today society accepts time as a linear concept, this was not always the norm. William Shakespeare lived in an era of change and revolution.

You see, there are only two tested and proven ways to travel through time. In this exact moment, you are traveling through time second by second. The next and more difficult way, is to travel at a very fast speed. If someone were to travel at the speed of 6
I think the movie Interstellar is mostly based on emotions and logic. It’s director Christopher Nolan said that The further out into the infinite we went and the more we isolated these characters who have to go across the universe, the more the focus naturally becomes on their humanity, on that intimate bond they have, what makes us human, all those issues{1}. I think what’s important for us to be humans is care for others more than ourselves .It helps in us in taking risks we usually fear to take to help others. The 2014-movie Interstellar directed by Christopher Nolan had a lot of people’s effort who did research in order to make the movie more realistic to real life experience.
