Jimmy Doolittle In 1896, an extraordinary person was born in Alameda, California. He grew up to be a very talented pilot in the United States Air Force. On December 7, 1941, Jimmy Doolittle was called into duty when Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japan. As a counter attack on Japan, America launched the Doolittle Raid which became an important event in history. After the Doolittle Raid Jimmy was recognized for his heroic duties. After graduation, he undertook as few hobbies, some beings a little riskier than others: motorbiking, boxing, and building homemade gliders. His motorbiking career did not last long, but his boxing turned into a walk of fame. At age eighteen, he became a professional, middleweight boxer. Although he was good at boxing, it was not his passion. Instead, he found that his passion was in flying; making the homemade gliders brought out his love for aviation. In 1915, Doolittle started to think long-term; he enrolled at the University of California at Berkeley. While there, he studied engineering, which payed off after he entered the war. Although he never received his degree because World War I started in 1917. While in the army, Doolittle was promoted to second lieutenant in 1912. Five years later, he flew the first airplane across the United States in less than twenty-four hours, from Pablo Beach, Florida to San Diego, California. After he won practically every flying award, some twice, he decided to go back to school and earn a degree. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology welcomed Jimmy in 1923. By the end of his schooling in 1925, he received his master’s degree and his Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering. After earning his degree, his family needed a little extra cash to live on. Before Herbert Hoover served as America’s 31st president during the years 1929 to 1933, Hoover accomplished global success as a mining engineer and worldwide gratitude as “The Great Humanitarian” who fed worn torn Europe during and after World War I. President Hoover brought to the presidency an outstanding reputation for public service as an engineer, administrator, and humanitarian. When the Republican convention in Kansas City began in the summer of 1928, the fifty-three-year old Herbert Hoover was an the boarder line of winning his party 's nomination for president. He had won many primaries in California, Oregon, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Maryland. Among important Republican supporters he had the help of women, progressives internationals, the new business elites, and corporate interests party regulars grudgingly supported Hoover,but they never trusted him. The convention voted Hoover on the first ballot teaming him with Senate Leader Charles Curtis of Kansas.

Jack (Jackie) Roosevelt Robinson is the person of the twentieth century as he is a legend beyond baseball. By playing baseball for so many years, he was able to prove that he was a remarkable baseball player. Robinson was also able to win numerous awards for all of his accomplishments.

Pearl Harbor Pearl Harbor is a very important battle because it is one of the reasons why World War II started. The battle happened on December 7, 1941 between the Japanese Empire and the United States. As a result of Pearl Harbor, more than 2,500 people lost their lives. This battle took place near Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to the attack of 9/11, the attack of pearl harbor was greater.
The play Our Town is about the people of a small town of Grover's Corners in New Hampshire. This play focuses mainly on two families, the Gibbs and the Webbs. The play portrays teenage years, love and marriage, and death throughout the three acts. Throughout the play, Emily Webb, Mrs. Gibbs, and Joe Crowell suddenly die suddenly when they had their whole lives ahead of them. Wilder conveys that death happens at any time so one should live every day like it will be their last.

One day that will always be remembered by America is the date of December 7, 1941, which changed American history forever. December 7, 1941 was the day the Japanese warplanes attacked Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) which stationed many of American ships and airfields. Jesse James was a very horrible man that a lot of people looked up to for some reason. He was into a lot of criminal activity that got him into some trouble. Not with just the law but with other people as well, so he always had to keep a lookout for people that looked suspicious. But one day he didn't keep a good enough eye out and it got him in trouble. His fascination with trains at an early age inspired him, later to have a successful career throughout his lifetime. As a child I had a strong love and a passion for science. I believed that my strong fascination and drive to explore new things will carry me far in whatever future career I go. As a child, I was a timid and careful individual who never sought to take unnecessary risks. But, as I grew older I learned to challenge myself to try new experiences and by doing so I have had some of the best times of my life.
The European and Pacific Theatre There were many battles in World War II, all of them being important and having different outcomes. Two main theaters we are focusing on are going to be the European Theatre where the Invasion of Normandy took place, along with the Pacific Theatre where the Attack on Pearl Harbor occurred. Both events had major impacts on the outcome of World War II, along with all the other battles we encountered. If ether of these battles turned out differently, America may not have become the amazing beautiful place it is today. The battle of Pearl Harbor occurred early morning in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 7, 1941.
On December 7th of 1941, an attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese changed the course of history of the United States and the world. This attack on an American naval facility claimed a staggering 2,403 lives and wounded 1,178 others forcing the United States’ formal entrance into World War II. I was very fortunate to visit and participate in a South Washington County ISD 833 group band performance at this historic site, in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. While visiting this monument, I learned about the significance of this International aggression on the American soil. This attack symbolized a threshold point for Americans from just offering support to the Europeans to becoming actively involved in the war.
One person who achieved greatness in their lives was Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson was a second baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was the first African American to play in the MLB. This was one of the greatest things that happened in sports people say, except the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2016. If Jackie Robinson did not take a hack at this great achievement, who would have.
Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor is by far one of America’s most remembered events in history. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese dropped bombs on the American base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This attack is what persuaded President Franklin Roosevelt to join World War 2 and fight on two fronts. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor for many reasons. They attacked because they believed they would create a New World Order, they felt threatened by America and because of the oil embargo.
