John Adams: A Brief Biography

Born on November 11, 1744 in the early Massachusetts colony in Weymouth, Abigail Smith was the second of four children of William Smith, a Congregational minister, and his wife, Elizabeth Quincy. Growing up, Abigail Smith educated herself while spending time at her grandmother’s house in English, French, and history by reading an immense amount. In 1764, she married John Adams, a lawyer, and became Abigail Adams. At the time, Abigail was nineteen years old and John was twenty eight.

Samuel Adams graduated from Harvard in 1743, even though he was a very educated young man he struggled getting a successful business started because he had problems with handling his finances, but most young people face the same struggles. With no where to turn he joined his family business, and began to produce malt for brewing beer. In his spare time Samuel became an active writer with the independent paper, he was writing articles on the politics that were in the public. Politics became one of his interests in while studying law in college. Samuel was critical of local leaders in his articles because of their alignment with the British.

Abigail Adams was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts in 1744. She had a brother and two sisters. John Adams was the husband of Abigail, he was the second president of the United States . John Quincy Adams was Abigail Adams son who after became the sixth president of the United States. Adams did not attend school, which was common for girls at the time.

In his urgency to argue how important he is, Stoll takes it upon himself to redeem Adams in every possible way. In doing this, Stoll does not fully acknowledge accusations of Adams’s roles in inciting mob violence and manipulating the masses with false propaganda. There has always been debate on Samuel Adams’s character and intentions, and Stoll consistently asserts that Samuel Adams is more innocent than guilty. John Adams was a famous American politician who played a key role in the American Revolution and later served as the second President of the United States (History.com Staff). John Adams also is one of the main characters in 1776, a play that portrays the story of what occurred at the Second Continental Congress, including the writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence. Like many other forms of art, this play depicts this part of history in a way that tells a compelling story. While the play is mostly fact based, there are a few inaccuracies. His father loaned him some money to start his own business, but he gave half the money to his friend so Adams was out of money in no time. But Adam 's father had different plans for him. His father wanted him to be in the ministry. But John Adams kept going to school for law by passing his fathers dreams. Doing that he earned his masters degree from Harvard University and got admitted to the bar. John Adams adored nature.
