Romeo is infatuated because of his passionate and impulsive actions. His decisions to act irrationally brought him harm and later, caused his death. He relies on his passion rather than his common sense to make his decisions. If only he thought about the consequences, he would still be alive.
When Romeo met Juliet at the Capulet party, he instantly fell in love with her. He then pulls her aside and before he kisses her, he says, “If I profane with my unworthiest hand/ This holy shrine, the gentle sin is this,/ My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand/ To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” (1.5. 92-95) This quote proves how quickly Romeo can fall in love. When he first meets Juliet, he instantly forgets why he went to the Capulet

They would back their statement with how Romeo would do anything for Juliet. While that may be true considering that he died to be with her, that evidence is not strong enough to prove that he was in love with Juliet. The only reason he is with Juliet is because she was the one that returned his love. Here is an example of how Romeo knows only infatuation and not love. At the Capulet ball, he said, “Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!/ For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” (1. 5. 51-52) This quote explains to us how Romeo confesses that he was confused on whether the feeling he felt for Juliet was love or just a physical attraction. That just shows how fast Romeo’s feelings can change and how he cannot decipher the difference between love and lust. There are also a lot of people who believe that Romeo’s love for Juliet is sincere. But in this case, there is too much evidence that prove that Romeo’s love for Juliet is not true love. His attraction is more physical than emotional. And because Romeo and Juliet got married the same day they met, his love for Juliet was like an obsession. He was so obsessed with Juliet that he killed himself because he did not want to live without her. Love is not and should not be detrimental. It should not cause harm and it should expect a life to be given in exchanged for love. In the article, “10 Ways To Know When Love Isn’t Love” by Maya Gittelman, it declares that love
In the play, Romeo is so desperate to find someone to love for their beauty, and not their personality. At a party, Romeo meets Juliet and he instantly falls in love with her. Later on in the play, Romeo goes to Friar to ask him to wed Romeo and Juliet. Friar then responds with, “Young men’s love then lies / Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” (2.3.
Statements- Some things that show Romeo and Juliet are in love, is they both are willing to die for each other, they are in love at first sight, and they are very excited to get married right away. In all actuality, this just shows how desperate they were for love and how they were so immature they would just kill themselves and forget about everything they ever once loved. Closing- They didn’t even think about not killing themselves, Romeo immediately went and bought poison when he found out that Juliet was “dead” and Juliet immediately tried to kiss it off his lips when she had seen what he had done and when that didn’t work, she shot herself.
To begin with, Romeo is all too eager to find love, and rushes to find a new pretty face. Immediately after laying eyes on Juliet, Romeo is transfixed and believes that it is true love. Later that night, he wishes to marry her, saying that he can have satisfaction with “The exchange of thy love’s faithful vow for mine” (II. 2. 127). Romeo knows nothing about Juliet, only that she is the most beautiful girl that he has ever seen. Even after his last relationship fails, Romeo does not learn.
The Irresponsible Deaths of Romeo and Juliet There is always that one person that does not listen to anyone no matter if they are given good or bad advice. That one person always ends up on the wrong path. That is the same story as “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet”, by William Shakespeare. Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? Is it Friar Laurence, Tybalt, or even Romeo himself?
Romeo makes it very clear that he loves Juliet. He is shown to be very realistic to today’s
While Romeo was known for his impulsiveness, it didn 't go to help him out later on. Romeo had been convinced to sneak into the Capulet 's party, and would then lock eyes with a girl that he will forever be in love with. An analysis of Romeo’s character in the play Romeo and Juliet, reveals that his fatal flaw was his impulsiveness due to him falling in love and marrying Juliet, becoming a murder after he had killed Tybalt and Paris, and him killing himself. One reason why Romeo was impulsive was because he had fallen in love with Juliet at first sight.
The first reason that Romeo and Juliet are not in love due to the fact that they are too childish to fully understand what love is. During the famous balcony scene, Juliet says, “But to be frank, and give [my love to] thee again, And yet I wish but for the thing I have. My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.” (2.2.31-35).
Romeo and juliet do not have fully developed brains. They are still teenagers, They don't have a full understanding of what love is and how it works. Romeo and juliet were under the stress of their family's. Romeo wanted to get married as soon as possible thinking that their families vendettas would end, juliet agreed and they decided to get married, As with most suicides, there is more to the story than just the ending. It’s never just that they wanted to end their life.
Romeo’s heart drives him to make, at times, irrational decisions to be with his one true love.
And, lips, O you The doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss a dateless bargain to engrossing death. (kisses JULIET, takes out the poison) Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide. Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on the dashing rocks thy seasick, weary bark. Here’s to my love!
From the moment he sees her at the Capulet party, Romeo immediately falls in love with Juliet. They both fall head over heels for each other as the night progresses. During their time together, they completely put all things aside and forget everything about the world except for their love for one another. Most people seem to think this way about the romance between Romeo and Juliet, but in reality, they aren’t actually truly in love. Romeo and Juliet are not in love with each other because just a day before they met, he felt heartbroken because of a girl named Rosaline who didn 't love him, he pressures Juliet to profess her love to him, and after just barely meeting, they both agree to get married.
Romeo and Juliet: Avoiding Tragic Mistakes Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is considered to be his masterpiece; it is known all over the world and is perhaps the most famous play in history. The play tells the tragic story of two young lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who are trapped in a feud between their families. In the end, their actions lead to the deaths of six people including themselves. The key to understanding the actions of Romeo and Juliet is through science.
The only thing that attracted Romeo to Juliet was her beauty. So what I’m saying is Juliet is a rebound to Romeo while Romeo is different towards Juliet. To sum it up, Romeo may mean quite a lot to Juliet and although Romeo says he loves Juliet, is it coming from his heart or is he just saying it to make himself and everyone who knows believe that he loves
After meeting Juliet at the Capulet party, Romeo fell in love with her instantly. When he figured out that she was from the family he hated; the Capulets he did not forget about her, instead he visited her. He put aside his hate for
Throughout the plays of Shakespeare, there are always character flaws within the main protagonist specifically in this play Romeo. In the beginning of the play we are introduced to Romeo as a love-struck boy but this is one of his flaws "Alas that love, whose view is muffled still, Should, without eyes, see pathways to his will (1.1.165-166)" this shows that Romeo is in love with ‘Rosaline' but as it is Romeo is in love with attraction, not real love because they are two separate forms. Furthermore proving this is the party of the Capulet's "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!
