The Renaissance was a time of reformation that started after the plague in the 14th and 15th centuries. During this time of rebirth, there was renewed interest the famous Greek and Roman art. During this cultural time, there were numerous important people who played a big role in the Renaissance. Some examples are, William Shakespeare, Christopher Columbus, Johannes Gutenberg, Henry the VIII, and many more people. Verrocchio’s specialty was perspective, which was quickly picked up and mastered by Leonardo di ser Piero Da Vinci. Often when an artist received a commission, their apprentices were assigned to help them. In one of Verrocchio’s commissions Leonardo was to draw an angel. It is believed the angel was so much better than the rest of the mural, Verrocchio set down his brush and never picked it up again. “Not only could Leonardo paint, he quickly learned metal working, leather arts, carpentry, drawing, and sculpting, furthermore he become a member of the guild by age 20.”
