Killing people in their sleep is hideous, however Macbeth does this to take the throne. As Macbeth plans the murder, he sees a vision and says to himself, “Is this a dagger which I see before me, / The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. / I have thee not, and yet I see thee still” (Shakespeare 2.1.33-35). By using a knife, Macbeth imagines the assassinate king Duncan. Furthermore, to ensure he is able to control the throne, he blames the guards, “For ruin’s wasteful entrance: there, the murderers, Steeped in the colors of their trade, their daggers Unmannerly breached with gore” (Shakespeare 2.3.115-117). When you know you have the upper hand against an opponent you should be ready for anything because the witches said Macbeth can not be killed by a person who was born from a woman. Shakespeare’s Macbeth Essay Sometimes people have a goal and they won’t stop until that path is achieved. In the play Macbeth by Shakespeare it has positive and negative outcomes, when it comes to how Macbeth proceeds his life in such negative term transforming him into this man he wasn’t before. Shakespeare’s message about right vs wrong leads to the downward spiral of an individual. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth was working towards the king title, even if that led to a downward spiral in his life. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth went with a plan to kill his best friend Duncan, with courage to sticking with that plan / and: “when Duncan is asleep (whereto the rather shall his day’s hard journey soundly invite him)”.
The witches are shown as being able to manipulate the minds of the characters, as they tell Macbeth to "beware Macduff" (4.1.81), which leads to Macbeth's decision to kill Macduff's family. This solidifies the fact that the witches have enormous power over Macbeth and can manipulate him to do anything. Another prophecy delivered by the witches that pushes Macbeth further into irrationality is when they tell him that the only way he can be defeated is by a man not born of a woman. Macbeth's desire to "make assurance double sure" by having Macduff killed reveals his paranoia and his willingness to use violence to maintain his power. Macbeth believes that by eliminating all possible threats to his reign, he will be able to sleep peacefully and without fear. However, this ultimately leads to his downfall, as his violent actions bring about his own demise. Additionally, as declared in Document E, "I bear a charmed life, which must not yield to one of woman born. " This augments Macbeth's character flaw of overconfidence because despite the many warnings and signs that his reign is coming to an end, Macbeth remains overconfident and complacent.
The Tragedy of Macbeth is a well known story that revolves around the word “ambition” but this ambition isn’t always self driven by someone, but rather through the influence of someone else who maintains control of the situation. The story is about a man whose desire to be the king and have power leads to the murders of those who might stand in his way. Throughout the story we see many characters who play major parts in how one event follows another, and how some characters seem to completely have control of the events in the story. Although in Macbeth the Three Sisters and Macbeth exhibit some control over the events, Lady Macbeth has the most responsibility.

On page 43, Act II, scene I, Macbeth sees the apparition: "Is this a dagger that I see before me with its handle turned to my hand?" Macbeth contemplates whether it is a figure of his imagination prompted on by his already guilty conscience, or a supernatural encounter that is compelling him to do the deed.
Lady Macbeth plots to usurp King Duncan so Macbeth can ascend to the throne take his place. After inviting Duncan to their castle, Lady Macbeth creates a plan for Macbeth to execute Duncan in his sleep. As demonstrated in this quote, “That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood. Come to my woman's breasts And take my milk for gall, you murdering ministers, Wherever in your sightless substances ”(Macbeth, 1.5 47-56).
The scene is quickly thrown into chaos in a matter of minutes. While Macbeth thinks he is safe due to the witches promise that no man born from a woman's womb would be able to take him down, the other part of the prophecy becomes true as the forest starts moving towards him.
