Macbeth's Key Flaw Analysis

Looking at Act 5 Scene 1, the start of Lady Macbeth's downfall, we can see many points which are wrong according to the Feminist point of view. Why is Lady Macbeth portrayed as weak? Why cannot Lady Macbeth look past the deaths? Why does Macbeth not get affected as much as Lady Macbeth does? How come Lady Macbeth is being tormented mentally, physically and emotionally?

Evening Grin & Tonic. To begin, I’d like to say how honoured I am to have been allowed to audition for a role in the theatrical production of Macbeth written by Shakespeare in the 1600s. My chosen soliloquy will be from Act 2, scene 1. At this point of the play Banquo is explaining to Macbeth that since one of the prophecies became true, that if all the others were bound to do the same that his allegiance would always remain faithful towards the king rather than him. Prior to this scene Lady Macbeth demands that her husband commit regicide against King Duncan however he asserts her that he no longer wishes to kill him.

Who’s to Blame? (An analysis of who is to blame for the downfall of Macbeth in the play Macbeth) Macbeth, is a play written by the famous William Shakespeare. The story focuses on this character named Macbeth. It is considered a tragedy in the multitude of plays that have been written. Macbeth in conclusion of the play is labeled as a tyrant and very decisively, insane.

In the story "Macbeth" by Shakespeare, Macbeth is a character that would overlook his actions consequences as long as he ended up with more power. Macbeth greatest flaws are his desire for power and overconfidence, that also drove to his death. As the story progressed Macbeth loses his humanity and is overpowered by his greatest desire. Macbeth family Is also affected by this flaw.

Before Macbeth is completely dedicated to executing Duncan his confidence falters that is until Lady Macbeth voices her feelings "... I fear thy nature - it is too full o' the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way". Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth in to believing that unless he murders Duncan he will never be King. As a result, Macbeth does murder Duncan and many more after. It is apparent that Macbeth's flaw is his ambitiousness.

Macbeth is originally hesitant to follow through with his wife's plan to murder, however, Lady Macbeth disapproves of his fears and argues that, "Which fate and metaphysical aid don't seem /To have thee crown'd withal. " In Lady Macbeth's eyes, the witches imply that Macbeth should act upon the prophecy and become king as quickly as possible because it is his fate, and she is afraid her husband will not take advantage of the opportunity to take the crown. Lady Macbeth is one of many external factors that Shakespeare incorporated to demonstrate how an individual's decision-making process can be heavily influenced by others. When we are first presented with the character of Macbeth he is pictured as a noble and loyal warrior. However, once his future is presented to him by the witches saying that he, Macbeth, is to become the next great King of Scotland, he begins to lose focus and makes the wrong decisions. Macbeth begins to only make choices that will benefit only himself and to gain power. Becoming almost unrecognizable to the person he once was. After confronting his wife, Lady Macbeth, he isn't the only one with a lust for power.

He believes that he is invincible and that he cannot be defeated. This overconfidence blinds him to the reality of the situation and ultimately leads to his downfall. Another character flaw is his unchecked ambition. One of the primary factors that drives Macbeth's actions throughout the play is his unbridled ambition. From the moment he hears

What seemed like a fearless soldier soon would have his life turned around by his own innocent ambition that furthermore evolved into blinding greed, need for power, and selfishness. This soldier was Macbeth, he didn 't realize the toll this had on his mental health and others. Macbeth had many distinct layers to him that he personally didn 't know he acquired over the course of time. This is what you 'd call a complex character, one who can 't be cognized yet till you fully get to know their mindset and thoughts. Traditionally this would be a great way to describe Macbeth, throughout this book readers slowly started to comprehend his intentions and actions .

Duncan, I was right to believe that Macbeth would be weak, and I'm sorry that i wasnt able to tell you of my plan, but this way, it's better. My heart has mourned the loss of you, Scotland has mourned the loss of you, a great man. Macbeth feels my motive was power, I fear for when he knows the truth. I hope you weren' in pain when you left, you looked so peaceful. As for Macbeth, the power is slowly eating away at him, he will be his own downfall, just as i suspected.

From honored soldier to murderous tyrant, Macbeth killed his way into power. He was informed of his “destiny” and stopped at nothing to achieve it. He had multiple chances to rethink his actions. He didn 't however, he kept on his march to power leaving only himself to blame. Macbeth is the only one to blame for his actions and ultimately, his death.

[Comparison] Macbeth’s actions were executed in a mindless state where the only factors that could determine his future deeds were his prophecies from the witches and his manipulative wife. Both gain Macbeth’s trust, though the witches exploit his indivisible faith in the supernatural, whereas Lady macbeth utilizes her womanly qualities as his wife and his equal to gain control of Macbeth’s conscience.

Passage 1 The context of this scene is after Macbeth received his promotion to Thane of Cawdor and he sent a letter to his wife Lady Macbeth, who was at Macbeth’s castle. A messenger gave Lady Macbeth a letter written by Macbeth which described his promotion to Thane of Cawdor. This promotion is ultimately what this excerpt of passage is referring to along with Lady Macbeth’s desire for her husband to further advance up the ranks and seize the crown, which King Duncan currently holds. In this passage, which contains Lady Macbeth’s famous, “Unsex me speech,” Lady Macbeth shakes off her femininity in order to do the dirty work require to overthrow Duncan and install Macbeth as King.

At the beginning of William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ the protagonist Macbeth is described as ‘brave’, ‘noble’ and ‘honourable’, however Lady Macbeth’s and Macbeths desire for power consumes them. Macbeth’s ambition overrides his conscience and transformed his greatest strength into his greatest weakness. Macbeth’s inability to resist temptations that led him to be greedy for power, Macbeth’s easily manipulative nature which allowed his mind to be swayed, Macbeth having no self control and his excessive pride was what allowed him to renew his previously honourable and celebrated title into one of an evil ‘tyrant’. Macbeth is led by the prophecies of the witches after they foretell he will become the Thane of Cawdor. Not only the witches, but also his wife easily manipulate Macbeth as she attacks his manhood in order to provoke him to act on his desires.
