The words risk taking, fearless, and Abby connect in the book Flush by Carl Hinson. In the text it says, Abby was chased by two guys, Luno and Dusty Muleman. when they got on the boat and floated near the dock they got a gun pointed at them both. This shows that Abby is fearless because she had still tried to get the motor running while he was pointing a gun at Abby, and Noah. Abby was also risk taking because she risked getting hurt or possibly killed at gun point, she also was risking getting fined or getting into lots of trouble by sneaking on the coral queen and putting food coloring in the toilets to catch the coral queen dumping.
In the novel, Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli, Misha constantly stays in the “ghetto of the damned,” (Spinelli) for his family. Whether it be to feed the group of lucky orphans, to protect them from the punishment of smuggling, or to simply lift their spirits, Misha sacrifices his freedom for his family. Through Misha’s dialogue and actions, he proves that his family is his tether to the Warsaw Ghetto. Misha Pilsudski, the protagonist living through the Holocaust, and Janina Milgrom, his sister, discover a hole in the wall imprisoning the Warsaw Ghetto. This absence of brick represents freedom from the torturous ghetto, yet they only tastes this luxury.
Lupe ends up winning the championship, and she is proud of what she has done. I think that Lupe is a very admirable person. She is admirable because she is intelligent with the situations life throws at her and in school. A following reason, is that she is determined. And last but not least she is a good sport.

Perfecto’s impact on Estrella tears down the illusion that she was incapable of learning and that she is a “dirty” child who is unable to fit in. He teaches her a wise lesson by reassuring Estrella that if something doesn’t work “because [her] manitas (little hands) aren’t strong yet, fasten the vise pliers” (6). This piece of advice changes Estrella’s mindset of learning, because it reveals that she should not blame herself for failure, but rather, she can find ways to adjust her environment and conditions to aid her learning. After reaching this epiphany, Estrella successfully “began to read” (7). The toolbox, letters, and reading skills have all tied back together to fulfill Estrella’s potential.

Lupe is super smart she has won many awards proving she is intelligent. Lupe won many awards, but I think the one she will most remember is the day she got a small trophy from the major for not missing a day of school, except for a day in kindergarten when she got stung by a wasp. She is a straight A student. Won the school’s spelling bee champion, winner of the reading contest at the library three years in a row, won blue ribbon award in the science fair, top student at her piano recital, and the playground grand champion in chess. All those achievements prove that she is very
