Martin Luther King Jr. was a catalyst and a driving force for the Civil Rights Movement. Though he wasn't the only Civil Rights leader, he was one of the most influential spokespersons in America, emphasizing peace, and nonviolence. He helped end segregation through protests, speeches, and writings.
As a matter of fact, one of the things that Martin Luther King first did was help organize the bus boycott. After Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat to a white man, many African-Americans began to walk to work instead of taking buses. This greatly impacted the bus companies economically because African-Americans were 75% of bus riders. This forced the bus companies to integrate and was eventually mandated by law. The bus boycott incident forced other cities in the south to rethink their laws regarding segregation. For example, on January 10, 1957 “bombs destroyed five black churches and the home of Reverend Robert S. Graetz, one of the few white Montgomerians who had publicly sided with the MIA(Montgomery Improvement Association)”(1).

The opportunities for African -Americans and people of color to be recognized as political leaders opened up, because Martin Luther King was a recognized leader and world renowned spokesperson. There have been many inspirational people in America, like Martin Luther King Jr., Jackie Robinson, and Eleanor Roosevelt. They were just some of the people that have helped our country. These models were all doing things that nobody had done before. Martin Luther King Jr. changed African American history forever. He was a non violent protester and he got us the right to vote.
As a peacemaker and an outspoken leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has done a lot to end segregation in the United States of America. His own imagination filled with millions of hopes that one day everyone can learn to accept one another put him in very difficult situations in which he was not afraid. In 1963, Dr. King wrote a letter from the Birmingham Jail to a clergymen that freedom has to be given to everyone no matter what race they were. Dr. King fought for the rights of African Americans because they were separated from doing all the things that the Whites were able to do. He decided to take a step and fight for everyone.

Martin obviously impacted the civil rights movement because he was the one who lead that movement, martin fought for african american rights peacefully, he called a boycott on buses to end segregation and it did. Influential Person Research Paper Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an influential figure because of his contributions to the Civil Rights Movement despite the challenges he faced such as constantly being arrested and his house being bombed. One of the first accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was his founding and presidency of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). The SCLC is a civil rights group that focused on desegregating the south. The group's first focus was on desegregating the bus system, but they eventually moved on to greater things such as registering blacks to vote and organizing peaceful protests. This proves that King was a successful civil rights leader, even though he struggled against racists whites in power that would try to oppress him and his group.
Hearts of the oppressed will always cry out in desperation; waiting for anyone to swoop in and liberate them from their cruel reality. Few are capable of mustering up the gumption to throw their neck on the line in defense of the defenseless. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one such man. Trading in his comfortable life for one of danger and ridicule, King was catapulted to the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement following the profound leadership he demonstrated during the Montgomery Bus Boycott. People in life struggle with hardships enormously in life. People can overcome those hardships and become a new person entirely. Martin Luther King went through a great amount of hardships during the Civil Rights movement. Martin had a great amount of hate received to him all over the country.that just changed him to work harder to convince hateful people that blacks and whites could be together. Martin was sadly assassinated,but his image changed the world greatly.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
Did Martin Luther King impact the American society? In the now days, all creatures have their rights even animals. Black Americans during 20th century did not have any of their rights. But Martin Luther King fought to regain everyone stolen rights.
Martin Luther King’s leadership and his beliefs had a powerful impact on the Civil Rights Movement. Their methods of peaceful resistance and civil disobedience to achieve integration, reflected his teachings. These methods later proved to be successful in achieving the goal integration of minorities when the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964.
