Thesis Martin Luther King, Jr., through the use of eloquent writing and appeals to emotion, refutes several local religious leaders' criticisms of the his and the SCLC's outside involvement and nonviolent direct action taken to draw attention to and build support for the end of segregation, not only in Birmingham, but all of the United States. Main Points First King refutes idea that he is an outside agitator that doesn’t belong in Birmingham, as he and several members of his staff were invited to the city by a local affiliate organization of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). He also asserts that his involvement there is valid, as “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” as communities are connected and affect each other indirectly.

Being a “great man” who is a great leader requires that one be willing to do what is lawfully right when his or her personal feelings might not align with the laws. An example of President Bush doing what is mandated by the state when his heart saw “right” as something entirely different, is in the case of Karla Faye Tucker. Bush, in a desperate plea to pardon her execution. Karla revealed her dramatic change in character due to her salvation and belief in Jesus Christ.

Growing up was unfair for MLK JR. He and every other african american citizen had been treated unfairly. They had been segregated and hated, but why? They only difference is their skin color, their all the same on the inside. MLK knew that it was wrong to have segregation.

Bush and the rest of the world would face one of the most devastating days in U.S. history. Terrorists had hijacked four U.S. commercial jetliners targeting New York and Washington, D.C. which three out of the four hit. Bush handled this situation with courage and confidence as he promised the American people that he would do all that he could to prevent another horrific attack. Strategies were formed to resolve the conflict. For a time, there was monitoring international phone calls made by U.S. citizens, and soon Bush administration started seeking to destroy Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations using military forces.

Martin Luther King also demonstrated leadership ability when he also put his well-being on the line and not only took part of the civil rights marches but led them. He inspired others to follow because he made a personal commitment for his cause. The inspiration and the hope he gave was to all people not just one race. He gave people hope that one day that all people will be treated equally and be judged by their character. Martin Luther King was defiant as his home was bombed in 1956 and he continued with his dream showing his never give up attitude.

Malcolm X was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha Nebraska. He was the fourth of eight children to Louise, a homemaker, and Earl Little, a preacher who was also an active member of the local chapter of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and avid supporter of black nationalist leader Marcus Garvey. During his early life, Malcolm 's family faced much harassment from white supremacist groups. Many times, the Ku Klux Klan came to his house, and smashed his windows and other furniture. Even his father was killed by this group.

He vowed to free Kuwait and rallied the United Nations Security Council who passed the Resolution 678 which authorized member states “to use all necessary means”, the U.S. people and congress to have sent in 425 000 American troops joined by 118 000 troops from allied nations to make Iraq withdraw from Kuwait. In December Bush has put forth a proposal to ensure the administration had exhausted all diplomatic efforts ensuring that war would be the last resort. He proposed that the Secretary of State should be sent to negotiate but the negotiations with Hussein went nowhere. Therefore, on January 12 congress voted to use military force against Iraq and the vote was an important win for Bush. The war ended in less than two months with minor casualties and Kuwait was freed.

He used civil disobedience when he expected for Britain to allow India’s independence but even though it did not happened he always remained using non-violence. MLK’s method required one to think logically; with his reasoning segregation was not only unjust but illogic.
