Missing Body Murder Case In the murder of Susan Powell that took place in December 2009, is a cold case that is still under investigation. It appears that Susan disappeared and nobody knows anything about her whereabouts. It is known that she had been having problems with her husband for over four years. May that have been the reason for her disappearance? Nobody knows, and it appeared that her own husband Joshua Powell didn’t have a clue of what had happened to her. For all that is known she is dead and her husband murdered her and got rid her body. Joshua has been the suspect of Susan’s disappearance since she went missing. Joshua told investigators that he and their boys went out fishing that day. Was it true or not, we will never know …show more content…
They have no clue if the body is in whole or in pieces. Since they don’t have any evidence then it makes even tougher to get the case solved. In this article it talks about how officers have might found blood that belongs to Susan, yet that is still under investigation. The textbook talks about Corpus Delicti, it says that “usually if no body is found, there is no criminal case to prosecute, because evidence needed to prove corpus delicti is ordinarily proved in homicide cases by evidence obtained from the body of the victim or from witnesses to the crime” (Anderson, pg. 269). So in Susan’s case they had to close the case because there was no way to keep investigating because they still haven’t found her remains. Until then, they will keep it a close case until more evidence is found and her body is found. One thing for sure is that they will continue to still try and solve the case. Which is a good thing, because for all we know, Joshua could have sold her to some person and they have her to this day? There are many “what ifs” in this case that I question myself. But, if I were the one investigating this case I would talk to Susan’s friends and Joshua’s friends if maybe they mentioned something unusual. Or now that they found that hard disk to Josh’s computer I would really get in contact with somebody to get the computer unlocked to see if there is any tips that can lead to where her
In the controversial court case, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, many believe the family happens to be the killers; however, the court show take their focus away from the Ramsey family. The neighbors said the Ramsey’s spoiled their children and raised them the best they could, but others say different. The majority of the people that know about this case have their minds set on the parents being the murderers, but there is other evidence that could steer law enforcement away from the family. Evidence was found that night that could show the family did it, but other evidence possibly shows someone else. Since the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, the finding of a ransom note demanding $118,000, random DNA tests, and confession by an individual have
