The purpose of the lab is to acquire the percent composition of zinc and copper. The procedure included obtaining a post 1983 penny and washing it with soap and water. After I rinsed the copper I transferred it to a watch glass that had been baked for 20 minutes so it would not contain any liquid so as to not counteract the experiment.
