Moon Shadow Analysis

1. Alternating between two points of view, Ed’s and Lucy’s. Graffiti Moon follows former high school students as they travel around the city of Melbourne the night after graduation in search of the famous street artist Shadow. The two main characters, despite not being very fond of each other team up to search for Shadow.

In the beginning of Dragonwings, by Laurence Yep, Moon shadow is 8 years old and lives with his mom and grandma in china. Shadow never met his dad ,because when he was born his dad left to go to America to get more money. Shadows dad was a master kite maker but when he left to America he had to clean clothes. Hand clap is shadow's cousin, he brought a letter from shadows dad inviting shadow to America. Shadow decided to go to America.

“I think the shadows are interesting. And I like the idea that there are human footprints on the moon’s surface” (Dowell,49). In this story, Jamie thought the moon was pointless and that it didn’t and wouldn’t ever affect her. Her brother TJ, though, admired the moon. The author revealed the theme in the same way as the author did in the book Devil’s Arithmetic.

He chased Moonshadow and told him to give him money or he would hurt him. Windrider funds them and gives Black Dog the money. Now Moonshadow and Windrider can’t fly Dragon Wings or pay their rent. They have to leave Dragon Wings. Uncle and the company came to help Windrider fly.

Mattie, a very smart and brave girl, went into town to return the ponies her father had bought, and after lots of negotiating, she got $320 in return. This helped pay for the help of a U.S. Marshal, Reuben “Rooster” Cogburn to find Tom Chaney. Mattie insisted on going along with him, but the next morning discovered that Ranger LaBoeuf from Texas is also looking for Chaney. At first, LaBoeuf and Cogburn go alone, but Mattie proves herself when she bravely crosses through a river on a horse after she is denied access to the bridge. Not long after, LaBoeuf and Cogburn get into an argument and leaves the two to find Chaney for themselves.

Under the Same Moon (2007) directed by Patricia Riggen is centered around a nine-old-boy, Carlitos, who is trying to find his mother, Rosario, who is in Los Angeles, California. Rosario illegally immigrated to the United States in hopes of a better life for herself and her son. She left Carlitos with her grandmother in Mexico in hopes that he would be safer there and could eventually come over with her. However, after her grandmother dies Carlitos, who wants to escape his tyrannical aunt and uncle, finds two transporters that illegally take him across the border. After he makes it across Carlitos is separated from the transporters and is eventually helped by Enrique who takes him to Los Angeles where they search for the payphone that Rosario used to call Carlitos at 10 a.m every Sunday.

They ended up going on their way to the beach, but a seagull flies into the car, and in the ensuing chaos they rear-end a car on the bridge and break their car's

After the “war” between Moon and Sanders, Moon finds out that he has an uncle who is willing to adopt him. Moon goes with him, and is introduced to his new family

Early in the story there is a mood of hope and excitement despite the boys “incarceration”. This is highlighted in the description of the moon illuminating the snow covering the ground outside the boys sleeping quarters. “The moon and the stars spread a thin blue light over the whitening ground below.

Once the sun was covered, “it was dark night.” The only light showing in the sky was the thin ring of light from the corona peering from behind the black circle that was the moon. Everything was dark and black and in what was supposed to be broad daylight, Dillard could see cars below her turning on their headlights. She later described the shadow that overcame them during the eclipse. She said that screams were heard from the hilltop, because of the unsettling speed and abruptness at which the shadow came over them.

With Ponyboy and Johnny being the nice kids they are the tell Dallas to leave them along making get upset and leaving. After that the girls hang around with them for awhile until their boyfriends show up drunk and angry that two other guys are talking to their girls. The girls go home with them and Ponyboy and Johnny leave. Later that night they run into them again and they remember them starting a fight. Bob one of the Socs gets killed in the fight by Johnny in fear that he was going to kill Ponyboy.

Darry, Soda, and Pony are all waiting in the hospital to hear news of Dally and Johnny. They are bombarded with reporters, and Darry finally gets them to be left alone because Pony wasn 't’ feeling well. Pony takes a nap on Darry’s lap, and then the doctor finally came with news of Johnny and Dally. Dally would be good to go in a few days after his burns are taken care of, meanwhile Johnny is in critical condition, with not a great chance of making it out of there. On the way home, Pony falls asleep in the car and end up sleeping until the morning when Two-bit and Steve came over.

The next day the three of them left and started walking farther away from the skiz fighters for their safety. Than that night June foloud Day to his family 's house so he could check on his sick family and June followed him to his house and she than found out this way that Day was Day so June reported back to the military of where they were and that she had found day. The military said that they were going to the house to pick up the sick people to do tests on them and to tell Day in the morning and they would have backups in the area so they can get Day when he goes to try to save his family. In the morning there plan works and they capture Day.

Jonny only killed to save Ponyboy . When Ponyboy and Jonny hand ran off to the park , they stumbled across Cherry 's and Marcia 's boyfriends. They were out numbered the Socs grabbed Ponyboy and began to drown him in the park 's water fountain , with nothing left to do Jonny pulled his switchblade out and took the Soc Bob 's life . " " I had too . They were drowning you , pony .

The room comforted him, the air was warm and cozy, and the smells in the home were nowhere close to the ones in the disgusting pound. The smell of their lovely house was glamourous and homely and made all the dogs pleasantly overjoyed. The man and women always have the biggest and joyous smiles and, The touch there nice, cheerful hand brought a pleasant joy to Rufus as he lay upon the floor getting pet. When, Rufus awoke the next morning to a fresh breakfast and a delicious,taste bud tingling meal he knew this was where he belonged. He knew this was his new home and this is where he would be forever.
