The last 2 people on the list of victims are Romeo and Juliet. If we go back and retrace our steps, it leads us back to where we began. We all know that Juliet planned to end her tragedy but what she didn’t know was that it would kill her only true love. In this quote, Romeo asks a very deep and substantial question regarding death, and states, “Shall I believe that unsubstantial death is amorous and that the lean abhorred monster keeps thee here in dark to be his paramour?” (5-3). This quote tells readers how Romeo questions death and himself because of Juliet’s fake death; we can be certain of how much regret he felt after she “passed” and because of this we can assume that maybe, just maybe, he ended his life because he felt as though he couldn’t live without Julie. Overall throughout the play, Romeo & Juliet, The Capulets & Montagues, & Friar Lawrence did end up playing an enormous role in their death. Juliet was very willing to “end” her marvelous life because of an arranged marriage but because Romeo never received the letter from Juliet, he thought that she had passed and because of this, their lives had a big change.
