Muhammad Ali was the greatest athlete of all time. What really is great? The definition of great is of ability, quality or eminence considerably above the normal or average. That defines Muhammad Ali. I think he is one of the greatest people to ever live. There will never be another athlete to be as inspiring, unpredictable, and generous as he was. We might never see anyone like him again. For those of you who do not know who Muhammad Ali is Ali was a boxer, he was a very religious person he was a part of the Islam religion. He didn’t conform to anyone’s idea as what they think he should be. Ali didn’t just change the image African Americans have of themselves, he also opened white people’s eyes of African American potential. Ali said ‘’Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating. It’s just plain wrong.’’
A very notable image of Ali is of him training in Zaire before The Rumble in the Jungle as he was running there were children running alongside him. It was an unforgettable image of the power of an athlete. There are so many celebrities that respect and look up to Muhammad Ali. I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t respect him. He touched millions of people, and he taught so many people to never give up.
After he retired from boxing he still had a fight. Against Parkinson’s Disease. After 32 years battling Parkinson’s he died on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74. He lived a great life, influencing millions of people to fight for what they believe in and never give up. That’s why Muhammad Ali was the greatest athlete of all time. ‘’He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in his life.’’ – Muhammad
