In this reading "A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson" by Mary Rowlandson, is about a war between the Indians and colonists of New England. The Native Americans attacked the Lancaster colony by burning things down, killing people and etc. A lot of people died doing this ambush and some got captured including Mary. The Native Americans decided to lead the colonist into the woods, until they arrived at a near lodge. Everything in Mary’s life was now gone, nothing would ever be the same. She prayed that God was with her and watching over her along the way. Mary believed that she was going to die, but she didn’t. She wondered where the rest of her children could be, after awhile she met her son and started to cry. She started reading the Bible more and understanding the word. The Bible gave her hope that her family would some day come back together. One day an English man came in town and the Indians didn’t want Mary talking to him. After a while Mary did eventually talk to the man and she received information from her husband and friends. Her husband sent her things that she could sell for money in the village. May’s master made a deal that if he received some items then Mary could go home, the deal was met and she went home. She didn't want to leave her children behind, but she had to do what she had to do. After leaving she believed that God had answered her prayers. Mrs.Rowlandson, Mr.Hoar, and two indians traveled with her to the town named Lancaster. When they went to the town there was no one there and many homes were destroyed. Next they traveled to Concord and there were a bunch of English people there. She was so happy to be around people she knew. The money that was raised by the Boston men and
