Good Afternoon your honor, I am filing a motion for the admissibility of Cameron Awbrey’s statement because there is clear signs of attenuation between the statement given and the arrest. I will prove my case by providing examples of precedent cases similar to the laws involved in Cameron's case. In the precedent case Utah v. Strieff, the accused was survallinced over a short period of time, was subjected to an unlawful stop and arrest but later received a lawful arrest. The question was whether or not the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine applied, which excludes evidence that is gained from an unlawful search or seizure.
Cage of Butterflies written by Brian Caswell incorporates many techniques that reflect how atypical this book is to the crime-fiction genre. The manner Caswell uses incorporates the “hard-boiled” protagonist, the structure of the text and the characters involved as well as many others Common archetypes in crime-fiction literature evoke an immediate connection. This allows the reader to grasp a better understanding of the character even before they have been introduced. For instance, if one is to describe a man in his late 30’s with an idiosyncratic hat, a pipe, magnifying glass, a long old-fashioned coat and an obsession with investigating the abnormal, you would naturally think of Conan Doyle's’, Sherlock Holmes. However Caswell’s characters are neither photogenic, wealthy or famous which seems enigmatic.
For many people, gaining a competitive edge is crucial in one 's success, even if it comes at a cost. In modern professional and amateur sports, the introduction of performance enhancing drugs has dramatically changed the nature of the game. Arthur Caplan, author of A Shot in the Rear: Why Are We Really against Steroids?, presented argumentative reasons from both supporters and objectors of steroid use. While Caplan attempted to use persuasive appeals, the lack of sources used combined with a poor structure severely weakened his argument. In order to enhance his argument, Caplan used persuasive appeals, such as logos and ethos.
Although he managed to fool the people, it’s clear to the reader he is more of a problem starter opposed to a problem solver. He as well as the other characters, was obsessed with his reputation and partaking in actions that would make him appear as a more dominant male
Dan Torf was a proclaimed “baseball geek” with a dream of becoming the GM of the New York Yankees ever since he was in high school. He knew the most random facts and statistics of the MLB that not many people would even think of. Because of this passion for baseball and the fact that he knew he wanted to work in sports, he applied locally to schools with Sport Management programs and was grateful to get into UConn. During his time in college, he had many internships, including one that I also had the pleasure of committing my time to, the Connecticut Sun game day internship.
As Washington D.C.’s second oldest town, Tenleytown has grown from a country village to a city neighborhood. Much of this transition involved the gathering of the Tenleytown community to fight crises or advocate for their neighborhood. Tenleytown citizens have fought against the relocation of the black Reno City community, fought for the rightful name of their Metro station, and fought against business and residential real estate development. Tenleytown residents have a shared history that has created a sense of place within their community, because they are willing to take action anytime Tenleytown or the community is threatened.
He is a pathological liar. He tells Dawn that she can do anything and is a great cop but tells Jeff she’s a little girl in a cop uniform that needs to be watched over. He blackmails her into doing sexual favours with him so he will back up her account of an incident when some claimed she used too much force. He believes in backing up your group no matter what they do. He backs up William’s story and vouches for him as a reliable source.
Many fictional detectives have been created throughout the ages for entertainment, the most famous of which, of course being Mr. Sherlock Holmes. Holmes is the perfect embodiment of a brilliant detective, but not all detectives are as smart a Holmes. Some characters had to be made to contrast this intelligence in a comedic way. This is what makes Chief Clancy Wiggum different from normal officers and detectives. His goal is purely to entertain.
In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.

“You always dread the unfamiliar,” (Bradbury 58). Ray Bradbury was a true visionary considering he grasped all revolutionary future concepts. Bradbury wrote the truth behind life. He wrote what was foreign to the knowledge of society. Bradbury’s writing brought fear into the lives of many because it was unfamiliar, however, it made connections to society now.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
After the Revolutionary War, Europe as a whole was watching the newly independent America and wondering what the young country was going to do and who they were. Letters from an America Farmer, written by J. Hector St. John de Crèvecoeur serves to answer the question “What is an American?” The traits given by Crèvecoeur are shown also in Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze’s painting Washington Crossing the Delaware and have endured long enough to appear within President Barack Obama’s “First Inaugural Address”. Together, Washington Crossing the Delaware and President Obama’s
