It seems like every day we hear something about 760mph trains or self-driving cars. Technology is changing the way we think all the time. We are more connected to each other than ever before. We can see and do things that other people before us would only dream about. The use of technologies can change the world.

“Technology can be a useful servant but a dangerous master”(Lange). New and advanced technology is seen as beneficial for society but how come the dangers are never talked about? Relatively helpful technology, such as cars, phones, and even AI are all capable of harming individuals. Steven Pinkers “Mind over Mass Media” talks about how technology can be a useful tool for society however , it can also become distracting and addictive.

As you think about it, it’s actually a bad thing, with less technology in the school the students will be a step slower from the rest of the world. I propose we make sure all schools get the proper technology to help the student achieve in life. So think carefully how long can we let our kids and family members live without technology in their perspective

This quote by albert Einstein shows us what has happened because of the overuse and dependance of technology. In The pedestrian by Ray Bradbury, Leonard Mead walked the streets at night and never saw a single person because they were all home watching television. Technology is harming society because, society is dependant on technology, and technology is changing society's way of life.

The reports and viewpoints on technology’s effects vary drastically. Therefore, the ultimate question is, what is the effect of technology on humanity? In order to answer this ultimate question, I read two articles: “Is the Onslaught Making us Crazy?” by Tony Dokoupil and “Don’t Fear the Digital” by Steven Johnson. In Dokoupil’s article, he discusses how the use of technology causes individuals to develop numerous psychological issues or disorders and that usage of technology can change brain structure.

We all use it. Whether it is a text to your significant other, a hard work day on the job, a quick drive to the store, even something as simple as going to church, no matter where we are we always seem to be using technology. Technology is a growing issue with each passing day and even though there are positive effects it also has its negative side. It affects the things we do such as communication and playing, but most importantly affects our brain with our daily thought process. Today, Im going to inform you on how technology has affected you and your daily lifestyle habits.

Many critics may argue and say that technology in education is dangerous. It can waste a students’ time by getting him or her sidetracked by distractions they find online. However when students avoid technology in education, they have to spend long hours, days, maybe even weeks searching for certain information in various different books. Students that really want to learn will force discipline upon themselves. Even if students didn’t use technology, anything could easily distract them when studying.

Being overly connected can cause psychological issues such as distraction, narcissism, expectation of instant gratification, and even depression. Beside [sic] affecting users ' mental health, use of technology can also have negative repercussions on physical health causing vision problems, hearing loss, and neck strain.” Sultan lists numerous effects, but there are even more negative effects that technology causes. In today’s society, the use of technology is becoming more socially accepted.

Technological advancements throughout today 's society have started a revolution. In an average day, a human makes decisions over a million times a day, from choosing where to go to which shirt to wear. Having choices in life gives a person control over themselves and behaviors. Using science and technology in a person 's everyday life affects their choices and decisions. Everyday technology is a factor that is considered when making a decision, whether it is from news articles or perceiving technology as another living being.

As technology evolves, people have considered it to be a very beneficial tool that helps us with a variety of things. However, many of us have not considered the impact it has on our kids. Our kids are becoming more "exhausted". Why may that be? Thanks to Frank Bruni an American journalist who published his article in the New York Times where he collaborate with teenagers.

Looking up from my reading my history book I realize something I have become so accustomed to: the amount of technology being used in the classroom. Everyone is on their school issued iPads. Some appear to be glued to the screen like they’re watching something, and others look like madmen with their fingers flying across the keyboard, trying to keep up with the lecture. The lecture is on a laptop which is connected to a projector, putting it up on a Smartboard. Long gone are the days of blackboards and chalk.

Technology is constantly becoming more advanced, and with this, it is becoming more addicting. Technology can be helpful in many situations, but if you let technology consume you, you will be lost without it. Technology can also impact our mental health in a negative way.
