Obesity has been a majority issue in America, it has increased sharply over the years. Of course, each individual loses weight differently but actually going forward with is the hard part. I know I am not obese, however; it is still good to know over time you slowly gain weight. I must make small changes to help me in the long-run with my health. I am interested to know which method is best for someone to lose weight when they are obese. After reading five different articles, I can determine which solution is the most effective in obesity.
In the first article “ Medicare’s search for effective obesity treatments: Diets are not the answer” it compares different online database to conduct their research. One of the most common diet method is restricting calories. In their research, they noticed from previous experiments that they used a longitude study case: they use two different group, one group are on the diet and the others are not. The participants were anyone who signed up and categorized as obese. After they completed the weight loss program, they would observe the same participants between two to three years after. People have different families/different situations. In this article “ Parents’ integration in the treatment of adolescents with obesity: A qualitative study”, they used integration and therapy to seek answer if it makes a change. They used a qualitative approach with 21 to 23 parents and adolescents, to engage in focus groups. During these focus group, they were audio-taped, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using content analysis. Individuals in the United States are overweight because they do not know how to limit themselves. If the government were to control one of the main reasons people are obese, then several people would not be overweight because the government would take care of the problem.
