Deforestation comes in many forms including, clearing for agriculture, clearing for infrastructure, fires and logging for timbers.
Deforestation impacts the livelihoods of many plant and animal species.
When we remove the forests we are effectively making the climate change issue bigger because we have no way to soak up the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
In the last 50 years 17% of the Amazon rainforest has been lost to deforestation.
