Pankration and its Relation to Modern Day Sports “All-Powerful”; this is the meaning of the ancient Greek term pankration. Pankration was not only a sport, but a will driven, fight to the death. The empty-hand event had simple rules: no eye gouging and no biting. Everything else was fair game. The violent sport, which first made its way into the Olympic program in 648 (Miller 57), was a crowd favorite. When one opponent could not or refused to continue, the other was named victorious. In pankration, to concede was of utmost humiliation. This is what lead most losing challengers to merely accept their fate, and be choked to death. Pankration has a very rich Greek history. Kimorah is a second-grade general education student from a school in the St. George area of Staten Island, New York. Upon having Kimorah assigned as my student and before meeting her, I learned that through prior assessments it is established that she is on a C reading level, and in the second grade. When I think of second graders, I think of babies that were just born into this world a couple years ago, but among meeting Kimorah I quickly realized that she is a person in every sense of the word. Kimorah is a 7-year-old extroverted girl, who is expressive and full of personality. Consequently, shyness does not affect her, but to break the ice further I decided to conduct a set of fun activities.

People who fight a lot in school most likely will become a MMA fighter. Such as Anderson Silva in 3rd grade he broke a kid 's nose for calling him a girl. Here is some advice for MMA “it’s not about hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and get back up.”

It is strange to think how much TV shows can have an effect on children. When I was younger, a TV show that I enjoyed was called Naruto. One of the characters that I was most fond of was Rock Lee. When he was first introduced, the director clearly tried to make him the bizarre kid on the show. He had a black bowl cut, bushy eyebrows, a green jumpsuit, and wore ankle weights.

Panopticon is when government is trying to control large populations by watching them without the persons knowledge. The term panopticon comes from the design of a prison where cells were built around a central tower guards could see into every cell by the help of mirrored windows. West Africans originated Capoeira as early as the seventeenth century through slavery, but was forbidden to be practiced due to the threat it posed for slave owners. The art form was born as a hope for survival and freedom as slaves faced unknown hostiles while they tried to escape (Roxborough, p. 59, 2011). The early history of capoeira is still controversial as to where exactly its first beginnings in Brazil are rooted, especially the period between the 1600’s and the beginning of the 19th century, part of this
Perhaps it would suffice to say that our ancestors hated boredom. We may still have our share of crazy and extreme sports in the present times, but you’d be surprised to know that the people of the yesteryears had it even crazier.
