Chapter#3 3 Experimental 3.1 Scope In this chapter we will discuss the chemicals used , equipments and procedure performed during the experiment . 3.2 Reagents and Chemicals Following are the reagents used: Paracetamol Fly ash Distilled water Sodium Hydroxide Hydrochloric acid Hydrogen peroxide 3.2.1 Fly Ash Fly ash, also known as "pulverised fuel ash" in the United Kingdom, is a coal combustion product composed of fine particles that are driven out of the boiler with the flue gases. Ash that falls in the bottom of the boiler is called bottom ash. In modern coal-fired power plants, fly ash is generally captured by electrostatic precipitators or other particle filtration equipment before the flue gases reach the chimneys. Together with bottom ash removed from the bottom of the …show more content…
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that paracetamol be used to treat fever in children only if their temperature is greater than 38.5 °C (101.3 °F). The efficacy of paracetamol by itself in children with fevers has been questioned and a meta-analysis showed that it is less effective than ibuprofen. Pain Paracetamol is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain. The use of the intravenous form for pain of sudden onset in people in the emergency department is supported by limited evidence. Paracetamol has relatively little anti-inflammatory activity, unlike other common analgesics such as the NSAIDs aspirin and ibuprofen, but ibuprofen and paracetamol have similar effects in the treatment of headache. Paracetamol can relieve pain in mild arthritis, but has no effect on the underlying inflammation, redness, and swelling of the joint It has analgesic properties comparable to those of aspirin, while its anti-inflammatory effects are weaker. It is better tolerated than aspirin due to concerns about bleeding with aspirin. Low back
Acetaminophen is a drug that humans take to relieve pain and fever. Typically, if a human is ill then they may take acetaminophen to make them feel better. Commonly acetaminophen is used to treat symptoms like headaches, fevers, muscle aches and backaches. Acetaminophen is medically important to humans because, acetaminophen puts them at ease while people are resting from whatever ailments they have acetaminophen puts them at ease at taking away the pain from the process. On only is acetaminophen important to people on a medical level but, acetaminophen is also important and a financial level.
Materials I used. Were a petri dish, scapula, liquids, burner, C-clamp, tongs, gas to start the flame, eight different types of powders, and the most importa martial was our goggles for safety. The petri dish was used to put the powder in for testing. The scapula was used for scooping up the powders.
The 1982 Tylenol crisis influenced changes in medication safety rules in the United States through the creation of tamper-proof pill and bottle designs. Many people are afraid to take over-the-counter drugs because of the problem. People of all ages, from children to the elderly, were terrified. People who had just taken Tylenol were terrified. They had no faith in Tylenol or Johnson & Johnson.
When someone has an addiction to Xanax, they may need to go through Xanax detox. This highly potent benzodiazepine can becoming habit forming if it is used for an extended period of time. While it is used medicinally to treat panic attacks and anxiety, this does not mean that Xanax is safe to use. Signs of Xanax Abuse Xanax is the most prescribed psychoactive drug in the entire country.
After reading over the information provided it is clear that ET and the physician have a right to be concerned. It appears as though EF relied on medication a little too much. As a result, it’s likely that she’s suffering from liver disease, which can be caused by an overdose in medications. In order to properly diagnose what was wrong with EF it’s important to look at the ingredients that make up the numerous medications she was consuming. Even more importantly, when looking at the ingredients it’s crucial to keep an eye out for acetaminophen, which can also be written as APAP.
Opioids Today Undoubtedly, the addictive nature of opioids has generated immense controversy in both the medical community and population of the United States. During the last decade, the increase of people addicted to opioids has grown steadily, among them; you can find ordinary people but celebrities, athletes and soldiers thus charging many lives in their path. Despite this, it was not until after several months of political pressure that the current president of the United States, Donald Trump, declared in the middle of 2017 those opioids are responsible of a health crisis in America. The history of the nation shows that with the passage of time, similar crises have appeared that are now experienced, but that despite this, they have not
Opioids have been a troubling problem in the United States for many years. In the recent past, since the yearly 2000’s, opioid overdoses have been on a steady incline. With heroin becoming the drug of choice in many cities across the country, overdoses relating to heroin are on the rise. Many states and cities are attempting to reverse the epidemic. Making naloxone, an overdose reversal drug, readily available for emergency responders or even those individuals overdosing, could cause a decrease in overdose related fatalities.
Treatment of fever in children is of greatest concern to parents. For the treatment of high temperatures (febrile illness) in children with the use of antipyretic drugs such as acetaminophen (panadol) and ibuprofen is widely available and widespread use among parents buying for their children. It is found based on studies in the journal that ibuprofen is more effective at reducing temperature in children than acetaminophen (panadol). There is a difference between the dosages of the two antipyretic medications. The dosage of acetaminophen (panadol) ranged from 8 mg/kg to 15 mg/kg and for ibuprofen from 5 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg).
Ketamine is a clear liquid or an off-white powder. Ketamine is a hallucinogenic drug. Ketamine can cause 30-60 minute hallucinations. It can cause a few different types of hallucinations. The hallucinations could be mellow and colorful, a near death experience, or a blissful infantile inertia.
According to the 2013 National College Health Assessment study, almost half of students surveyed stated they felt overwhelmed with anxiety in the last year (Novotney, 2014). These numbers continue to rise among high school students and college students around the country. It’s no question why the percentage of Adderall use among college students is also rising. Adderall is a drug commonly prescribed to treat ADHD and its symptoms; however, its use among students without the ailment is rising. The drug heightens students’ motivation, focus, and concentration (Student Health, 2016).
Across the world abusing prescription drugs causes more deaths than street drugs do combined (“International Statistics”). Prescription drugs are so easy to get ahold of and so easy to get addicted to. The misuse of prescription drugs have gotten out of hand. These drugs can cause unintentional overdoses easily. The misuse of prescription drugs can lead to addiction, affect the health of users in a dramatic way, and even cause death.
Morphine for Medication Morphine has been known as a drug, a devil people mustn’t interfere with, but they never think about its benefits as a medical treatment. There are so many painful health conditions that people face nowadays, such as cancer pain, a pain after a major surgery, a pain after major trauma or injury, or a heart attack. Morphine is a strong opioid painkiller that is used to treat those conditions to relieve the pain. Although morphine is addictive and can ruin a user’s health, it also has benefits as a medication.
This experiment has to be carried out carefully
Definition of key terms so the evidence should be used when implementing any nursing care activities. The evidence based practice (Sarah, 2013) said " is Evidence-based practice involves seeking out and incorporating into care the most reliable sources of evidence available-and knowledge produced by research " . Fever is the most common general medical practices in particular, Pediatrics, has been defined the fever is " body temperature exceeded over 38.3 " (Starkey.2013) cold compression can be use as simple and easy home remedies for body cooling and lowering temperature to a normal level. Cold compress is a piece of cloth or a soft cotton applied to an area of the body, taking into account that not frigid because it causes narrowing of the blood vessels, thus the difficulty in blood flow. But it is of great importance and is very effective in treating fever .
The chemical equation for this experiment is hydrochloric acid + sodium thiosulphate + deionised water (ranging from 25ml to 0ml in 5ml intervals) sodium chloride + deionised water (ranging from 25ml to 0ml in 5ml intervals) + sulphur dioxide + sulphur. As a scientific equation, this would be written out as, NA2S2O3 + 2HCL + H2O (ranging from 25ml to 0ml in
