Throughout the book, Bradley utilizes rhetorical questions, stories, interviews, and letters to create a more personal feeling to the book. Also, this builds ethos, making his book credible due to his sources. He creates a dramatic tone by employing short sentence structure and repetition throughout. Furthermore, Bradley also indicates strong feelings towards two major themes of the book, which are pride in his country and a contempt for the media during wartime.

The book captures your attention with well-written narrative and format. As the book develops these key themes begin to intertwine and their significance becomes clear. The reader begins to understand how the American ideals are tied to their relationship with the Continental Army. The majority of people during the American Revolution fought for liberty without realizing the actual cost and brutal reality of war. In the novel My Brother Sam is Dead, the Meeker family consisting of a Father name Life, a Mother named Susannah, a rebellious teen named Sam, and a conflicted teen named Tim, journey through the life of colonists owning a tavern during the Revolutionary War. Sam departs from his family to fight alongside the Patriots going against his Father, a Tory. War brings a lot of terrible things, but some examples are families splitting, clash of generation, and an overall theme of principle vs reality. The soldiers who fought in the war thought they were fighting for liberty, when really they caused havoc and awfulness.

The Patriot offers inaccurate character portrayal, cultural details and social details. The few dainty accuracies of the film include apparel, battle occurence, and gun usage. As the movie progresses many parts throughout the film do not align with proper historical accuracy. The inaccuracies may seem true to the common eye but with proper intel it is clearly seen to be erroneous.

On November 26, 2016, I attended the Emerald City Theatre Company production of Charles M. Schulz play Charlie Brown Christmas. Still, it 's a good and time-efficient choice for family members who are used to the animated Charlie Brown and wanting it to be the same as the TV special.
