Perseverance In Jack London's The Call Of The Wild

Many individuals are able to succeed because they are willing to fight for what they want. Doing this they are shoulding perseverance. Perseverance in other words means to not give up. The novel “Call of the Wild” Buck shows perseverance by not giving up his leadership throughout the book when he got his new owners and new sled dog teammates. Even though he had to fight to keep his leadership, Buck never lost the leadership.

In the poem Making Sarah Cry, the theme was perseverance because the poem is about a little girl named Sarah who gets picked on every single day. In the text it stated, “To him she must deserve it because she never tried to hide.” This shows perseverance because she never gave up and never went to hide away from all the bullying. Another example why the theme is perseverance is because the poem states, “Leave him alone you bullies, because he's a friend of mine.”

Buck 's intelligence and strength helped him survive, but the determination and will to live is what really got Buck through his hardships. A major theme in The Call of the Wild is "Determination can get you through anything," a statement Buck proves multiple times. Buck was a strong-willed dog that faced many challenges, from being kidnapped, sold to Alaskan gold miners, becoming a sled-dog and conflict with other dogs. While Buck 's wits, strength, and most likely some luck assisted him in his journey, Buck stayed determined throughout and it got him to where he wanted to be.  In the beginning, Buck was a pampered dog, he lived in a nice house with a family that loved and cared for him.

In Call of The Wild, Buck, the main character, is forced to push through treacherous conditions and dangerous situations to achieve his goals, showing his undying perseverance. Buck is able to persevere through everything due to his extreme want to be great at everything he does, no matter the activity. He never gives up, even through tough circumstances, and this results in his pulling a ton with his own strength, and leading his team through the perilous slopes of the Yukon. “He was beaten (he knew that); but he was not broken,” (Chapter 1, Paragraph 40).

At the beginning of the book, Paulsen encounters a beaver while racing on a frozen lake. The dogs see the beaver and start go haywire hen this happens. A symbol in Winterdance is the beaver. The beaver represents the unknown and represents what the reader does not know. Paulsen thought the beaver would attack, but it didn’t.

The pain the beauty and abuse Perseverance is when you excel from a hard experience. It helps you gain more confidence and strength. You become more of a strong person if you persevere from something. Buck is a dog from a book called Call Of The Wild. He perseveres a lot in this book.

The difference in climates and environment creates different obstacles and things that have to be learned in order to survive in the wild(Napierkowski). Besides just the setting he also had to face the wild. A theme of the story is civilization vs. the wild. His life was changed over a period of time. The title itself says “The Call of the Wild”.

Call of the Wild is a book about a sled pulling dog named Buck, Buck wasn’t always pulling sleds though. He used to be a domesticated dog living under the roof of a rich Judge, but all of that changed when he was captured and sold to two men who were crossing the Yukon territory. Through many courses of events, Buck became wild, hence the name of the book. This book takes place in the Yukon territory which was freezing and conditions were very rough, by the end of the story Buck had changed because of the problems he faced.

Then he realizes that he was not going to stay with his money when he die. At the end, he helped his employee with a monetary situation. Further, he went to his nephew’s Christmas dinner. Significantly, this novel helps people retrain the meaning of being humble and kind with others. Something that is very important about this novel is that it teaches a lesson of helping others, because you are not going to stay with your money when you die.

In the novel of the Call of the Wild, Buck tried to adapt to his new and difficult life. He was forced to help the men find gold; he experienced a big transformation in him. At the end, he transformed into a new and different dog. Buck went through physical, mental and environmental changes.
