Personal Narrative: My Teamwork In The Emergency Department

Day two clinicals. This day went so much smoother. I had the same two patient as the day before and one got discharged and I got a new patient. I feel like my second day I had an amazing relationship with my one patient. I got her to eat a little more that day because I knew what to talk to her about.

I'd be nervous about those things too, but he seems to take it all in stride. His sister lives in Yarmouth which is about fifteen minutes from where we are. I think the fact that they triage appointments definitely has a lot to do with why we've had to wait a while for ours. Also, they need to schedule anesthesiologists and so on. This is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. It has bunches of people watching others. It makes me feel good when I walk up to the plate. I always feel like I’m at home when I step onto the field. I play my position and have fun doing it.

With Nurse Dre Dre, the night nurse, I got to do suctioning, tracheotomy care and start feedings. I feel like I’m getting confidently effective with my communication skills everyday that my I’m learning and enhancing my nursing skills. I was able to educate a family member who was not wearing protective equipment inside an isolation room the importance of wearing one to prevent the spread of infections and promote wellness.

As three men roll out of the front seat of the EMT with sirens blaring, I know this one is a code red emergency, or in other words, life threatening. My protocol tells me to stand with the rest of the nurses as the men and women wheel in a pulley to the front entrance, but my experience tells me to take any precious seconds before they arrive to clean out an empty room as fast as possible. I do. The sounds of labored breathing and Velcro straps from the restraints ring in my ears as the man is settled into the bed. The sheets that I took little time in arranging are now stained with crimson blood and the backs of nurses and physicians now block my sight.

The best thing I had accomplishment in high school is doing my 200 over hours in the Mercy Medical Hospital. Doing this was a big accomplishment because I learned how to communicate with the people in the community and also I had also learned new things on how to take care of the patients their to make them feel comfortable while they where their. How I earned these hours was by going once a week and doing four hours and I help people locate where they need to go and I also go to the floors and help them get their things ready when they are about to get discharged. Also, when I was able to work on the weekend and during my breaks I had done eight hours each day I took the extra hours to show that I am capable that I wanna help the people

One of the experience i have that involved with the retrieval cue should be working as a medical assistant again after 1 year of working at somewhere else and doing different things. I've realize how much stuff that i have forgot after 1 year of not interacting with doing thing that a medical assistant need to do. As a medical assistant have a lot of different tasks that need to remember in order to assist the physician. however, the unclear memories that i had for interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs helped me a lot with finishing the first step of the situation. however, when the situation gets complicated such helping patients to fill out forms, this is one of the struggle that i had.

I used to work at this facility as a CNA, so for me, it was nice to see what all they do because a lot of it is behind the scenes and I had an idea of what to expect. I knew they did some paperwork and handled employee issues. I didn’t realize exactly how much paperwork it involves. I also never realized how much the employee issues disrupts them and puts them behind.

I am in a point in my life where I am focusing on the development of my character in all aspects. I am doing as much as I can to develop professionally, mentally, and socially. Professionally, I am taking on as many leadership positions as I can on campus. I am the treasurer of three organizations, a peer mentor, and a Resident Assistant.

This year, I experienced both a personal and academic obstacle that correlate with one another. In January, I started the year long Medical Assisting program at my school. Prior to beginning this program, I was so excited to be getting a medically centered education, and learning about the field I wanted to expand my career in. After entering the program and learning that there is so much more to medicine than just taking care of patients, I began to lose my interest. This was shocking to me since, my whole life up until this year, I believed I was going to become an amazing medical doctor.

I have amassed 1200 hours of patient care experience at my first CNA job at The Elms of Cranbury. My experience at the nursing home was challenging but rewarding at the same time.. My duties there included bathing, feeding, washing, transporting, dressing, toileting, changing and dressing patients. I also had to record the amount of food they ate, how much they voided and the size and consistency of their bowel movements. I had to report any abnormalities, complaints, or medical requests to the nurse.

My passion for healthcare lies with patient care. I enjoy taking care of patients and their family. I have chosen to become a family nurse practitioner because I can combine nursing and medicine to provide a higher level of care to my patients. Introduction I’ve been waiting since I’ve declared to be a nursing major to attend my very first clinical and finally last Saturday on October 17th I attended my first clinical at the Ludlowe Center for Health & Rehabilitation. It felt just like the first day of school! I woke up at 6 am and I felt anxious, sacred, and nervous, but also beyond excited to see what’s ahead of me for the morning. The clinical lasted from 7 am to 1pm, which at first seemed like a really long time but the excitement carried me away and it felt a lot shorter. The early morning was filled with activities that resembled what I have learned in my foundations class.

and I am the only CNA. I was able to manage my time and to move fast in order to finish all my tasks. These unique traits of nurses made me think that nursing is a caring profession and I want to be able to do those things

My engine opened at full throttle and my heartrate bouncing off redline as I saw the black smoke pouring into the sky like a coal factory chimney stack. While my partner and I arrived at the fire scene, the apartment was spitting out flames that crawled three stories high. Then, my partner and I downed our Personal Protective Gear (PPE) and the pulled attack line from the fire truck. Next, without a thought of fear, I entered the burning building. I pressed my left hand against the wall to guide me towards the fire as my right hand firmly gripped the nozzle, I continued into the blaze.
